Dated, floor making noise, and shared bathroom however room was clean

We chose The Robertson Hotel for my dad’s celebration of life in lieu of a funeral and we couldn’t have wished for anything more. It was a really important day for our family and Megan, Rebecca, James and the wait staff went above and beyond to ensure our loved ones could farewell dad appropriately. We held the event in the white dining room at the front with 150 people. It was a bit tight, but it was our choice to hold it in that beautiful room instead of the larger ballroom which didn’t have the same feel (albeit also beautiful!) and we had extra people turn up. But despite the cosy feel, the staff did an amazing job with the food and drink. Everyone was well fed and watered. The hotel was decorated for Christmas in July which added to the happy, festive feel we wanted for the event and the big fire place was regularly fed and stoked to keep us warm and comfortable. We had agreed on a grazing table and hot canapés, but what we got was so much more than we expected, both in quantity and quality. The grazing table was a work of art and many guests took photos of it. There was a huge selection of cold meats, cheeses, crackers, nuts, fruits, crackers, bread, sandwiches etc. Something for everyone. All our guests commented on what a great venue it was, full of character, just like my dad. It really means a lot that we had such a perfect day there as it will be somewhere for us to return when we want to remember dad and all the people who love and miss him. The Robertson will always hold a special place in our hearts now. Thank you.
