Courtyard Charlottesville

An amazing stay at a premier hotel! The service was flawless the check in was fast and easy! The room was beautiful, spacious, well designed, and the cleanliness and details on amenities throughout the room were impressive! We will definitely stay again! It will be 2 stays in one month for us. Back in Charlottesville area on the 25th and they are our go to property!

I'll preface this review by saying that the service and staff at this hotel are excellent. My check-in experience was one of the fastest I've ever experienced and I did not experience any service issues during my stay. My issue with this hotel is the condition of the rooms. The lobby has been renovated to the new Courtyard standard, with a dedicated workspace and computer for printing boarding passes as well as a new lobby bar with bistro menu. It also appears as if they red-carpet the rooms, although that is where their renovation stopped. The fact that they are still putting carpet in hotel rooms in 2019, and especially in the sink/vanity area seems crazy to me, but maybe I'm just a germaphobe? The bathroom appears to be original and the dated fixtures feel like they are from the early 1990's. Lighting has also not been updated to LED, and still has the slow flicker on that makes me feel like I'm in a budget motel, not a modern mid-tier aimed at business travelers. One of the lamp shades in my room was also damaged, the desk top was worn to the point where some of the finish is missing, the blackout curtain bad a few small holes in it, and the wallpaper in the vanity area showed several stains. In terms of cleanliness, I would rate my room average or slightly below. The linens and the tile in the bathroom appeared clean, but the coffee maker had hard water stains and the new shampoo and body wash (the hotel uses Paul Mitchell Tea Tree products in bulk pumps mounted to the shower wall) had not been wiped down and had dried body wash caked on the top plate. Overall, the room was certainly usable and reasonably clean, but I give the hotel a 2/5 because the rooms do not meet the standard that I expect from a Courtyard / Marriott family hotel.

I was there for a family event Nov 16-19, 2025. From walking in the door we were greeted, the room was clean and well appointed. The staff was amazing, particularly April the bar tender who prepared our late arrival dinner with courtesy and personal attention, and Bahieh Muss who worked the morning breakfast shifts and prepared all the fabulous food for the Saturday evening party.

We felt very welcomed at this hotel. Hotel was very clean, including the fitness room and hotel lobby reception area. Impeccable customer service by Bahieh Musa. We definitely would stay here again!

At late check in, we met Bahieh Musa, who was so welcoming & friendly. We came back to this property due to the hospitality & kindness shown to us on a previous stay back in March. Bahieh represents the best of Marriott & we will be returning.
