Before going to Maroon Bells, Aspen was too expensive, so I stayed there, and it was okay. There were some reviews saying it was dirty, but it was quite clean when I visited. There was a fast food restaurant 20 minutes away on foot, so it was convenient. I didn't expect much for breakfast, but there was a variety of cereal, scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, and fruit.

The hotel was easy to find and had a fun, personable man running the desk the entire stay which was a nice welcome. The room was large and had a lot of space to it, and had a table, desk, nightstand, dresser and a decent sized fridge/freezer which are larger than the standard small beer type fridges, also a microwave. Walls were accented, but could have been made nicer with some local heritage prints on them or something. The bed was comfortable and had no issues sleeping. One side had a table with outlets in the lamp to charge phones, etc. Bathroom had the standard amenities. Outside the bathroom is a very long sink counter, so you can store a lot of stuff on that counter. Ice machine is actually behind the building in the housekeeping corridor it seems near the laundry machines, so it might be a bit tricky to find. Breakfast for a small hotel like this, was a lot more than I expected. Good scrambled eggs, sausage patties, taquitos, different juices and hot drinks, waffle maker and a cooler for to go drinks as well. 2 blocks walking from the main street and close to the state parks in the area as well. One of the cheapest options in town on top of it. I'd for sure stay here again if I was in the area...

It appears as though a renovation is in progress. Our room was very nice and clean with newly painted walls and bright lighting.

This is a gem especially for an older hotel! The owners have done a nice job updating flooring & furnishings while still keeping the price a GREAT VALUE! Impressed with how quiet it was.
