The Castle House Luxury Bed & Breakfast

This is a beautiful building with welcoming hosts. We were offered a drink on arrival which was very welcome after our journey. The room (The Wensley Suite) was gorgeous with views of the castle on one side and the quaint town on the other. Breakfast was delicious. We highly recommend Castle House and will certainly be back to stay here when we visit the area again.

Diana welcomed us to this b/b as Nigel the owner was on vacation. Even so he phoned to check our eta etc. from his vacation. Diana was very well organised and could not do enough for us. Her breakfasts were a credit to her and very well presented. The room was clean and refurbished on request daily. Nice sitting room and library area to chill if you wanted to get out of the room.We will definitely visit Diana again as she was the backbone to this business in Nigel’s absence. Pity we have to do our own breakfast tomorrow.

Castle house is lovely, the staff are very welcoming, the breakfast is excellent. The 2 rooms we stayes in were spacious, with good views of Richmond , but unfortunately I didn't sleep much during my stay , as i found the beds where very uncomfortable .

Lovely warm friendly welcome from Andrea who made us feel really welcome. Andrea showed us to our room then returned with welcome drinks and left us to settle in after providing us with recommendations where to shop,eat and drink. We had a large superior room with a large comfy sleigh bed and an en-suite with a roll top bath.Plenty of towels etc Everything catered for in the room. Traditional cooked Breakfast was exceptional with great locally sourced ingredients prepared by the host and served on mishmash plates, Cups and saucers which added to the overall appearance and atmosphere of the breakfast room, tables just a little too close together for our liking but other than that it was perfect We would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to anyone who wants a comfy relaxing quiet place to stay

Stayed in the Richmond Suite and we can't fault it. We have stayed in 3 hotels in Richmond over the last year and a half and this one is the best. Won't be staying anywhere else now. Bed was comfy and the log fire makes it so cosy. Bath in the room near the open fire is a very good idea. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We had full English breakfast and throughly enjoyed it. There was no noise for any of the pubs in the town centre which was great. Definitely recommend this hotel, well worth the money

I was disappointed! it’s not a luxury hotel, as advertised. Lovely building but needs a full refurbishment to get to that luxury level. Found bath with a crack in, no separate shower gel, shampoo & conditioner just a one that’s all in one and a separate hand wash. Not luxury toiletries, my thoughts of luxury would be Espa, Templespa, White company etc. The hotel also had reed diffusers dotted around & in the room these had, had better days and was time to put new ones out. Also our TV kept buffering . Luxury to me is 5 star and everything is of the highest quality in decor, carpets etc making it perfect I would say it’s a 3 star hotel, good location, friendly staff & breakfast tasty. I would of preferred to have been able to order breakfast on the morning, rather than the evening before Also feel 10:00 departure time is early, most hotels its 11:00 Did feel a bit let down thinking it was a luxury hotel.£130 is a lot for a 3 star hotel & I could of gone to a few other hotels for similar price, that is 4 star in the area. Unfortunately I would not return
