Totally excellent all round top quality food, service, decor and value. Having been out walking on a wet day last week we called in for lunch and so glad we did. The homemade steak and ale pie was the best ever, short pastry with exquisite large chunks of tender beef in a rich tasty gravy. Wish they sold them online or we lived nearby! A real treat and a friendly waitress, Jane was very kind to bedraggled customers!! Highly recommend if you are in this area. It will not disappoint.

My wife and I were staying at nearby Mellington Hall and we'd weren't unable to get a table in their restaurant as it was too busy. As it was getting late we did a quick search for local pubs and rushed out. We first tried a different pub, but they'd closed their kitchen early due to being quiet. We then wen to The Nags Head Inn and the lady who greeted us said they'd also just closed the kitchen, but she went and had a word with someone and they were kind enough to keep it open for us as long as we ordered quickly. The food was absolutely delicious with fabulously generous portions. My Indonesian curry had loads of tender beef chunks and my wife's beef pie was packed full of meat along with plenty of chip and a generous portion of veg on the side. Thank you so much.

Brilliant little pub! Visited today and had excellent service, staff were welcoming and went beyond what you'd expect. Food was unfaultable, fresh and beautifully presented. We will definitely be coming back next time we're in the area.

Our experience was not great. Our evening meal was very rushed, the waitress was clearly in a hurry to see us eat quickly and get out.

Lovely place for a stay over. We stayed 2 nights as we were going to The Royal Welsh Show. Lovely staff who work hard to look after guests, whether staying in one of their rooms or dining. The food was really good and the room we had (1) was large with a very comfy bed and big bathroom with a great shower. All very clean and with the usual tea/coffee/bathroom toiletries and lovely big china cups. The room had a floor standing fan which was great as it was quite warm at night. For the upstairs rooms you need to be ok with stairs. For us it wasn't a problem. They do have a room downstairs apparently, which has easier access for those who require it. They are open for morning coffee (very nice coffee!) lunch, afternoon tea and evening meals. Best to book for evening meals, as they were very busy when we stayed. A very nice Continental breakfast is included in the room price but you can order a cooked breakfast if you wish. Thank you to all the staff for a really lovely stay.

Booked here for Sunday lunch as we were staying nearby. The car park was very busy so parking is a lottery. We did read previous reviews about the staff but they were all polite and friendly. Sunday lunch was great and there was plenty of it. Would definitely eat here again if we are back this way

Having had a meal in the restaurant we were having a drink afterwards in the bar with friends , but were told we had to disband because the bar was closing at 10.00pm and we’d have to leave. An enforced return to our rooms!

Lovely rooms well equipped, disappointed with the food, dining room unbearably hot (don’t know why they didn’t open door) lots of flies in the dining room (was off putting when eating) and the bar closed at 9pm meaning we had no option other than to spend the evening in our room.
