Nautilux Rethymno by Mage Hotels
"The hotel is pleasantly located by the sea, 30 minutes walk from the port, with a pretty garden. The swimming pools are very pleasant and the deckchairs comfortable. The staff is pleasant, smiling, but not up to standard for a hotel of this standard. Training problems are obvious: tables not necessarily cleared, non-compliance with orders. The rooms were not cleaned very well, and often we had to ask reception to have it corrected. I regret having paid extra for a suite, whereas with a classic sea view room the view was much more beautiful, and the facilities of the classic room were better: my terrace lacked something to put wet clothes on to dry them, in the bathroom no shelf to put things on, it's really problematic for an establishment of this standard. Just like in the wardrobe, it was impossible to put the clothes down, I had to leave them on the desk even though there was a lot of empty space that could have been used as a shelf. This is not normal. The valet parking service is appreciable. Overall I am satisfied with my stay, but you have to be careful, because the price is high and the services are not necessarily up to standard. "
Archipelagos Hotel
"Stayed on our annual group trip in September and we loved it! Staff are amazing. Nothing was to big of an ask. Pool area is clean & tidy. Lots of loungers to rest on & easy access to the beach across the road."
Grecotel Creta Palace
"We've just got back from Creta Palace and couldn't be any happier with our holiday - it was just perfect. The resort is the nicest resort we've stayed in - the beach is amazing and so close, the sea was warm enough to swim in every day at the end of May. Pools were great, our 4 year old loved going in all 4 of them, constantly changing which one he wanted to be in. I saw a review about there not being safe entry but there is a kids pool further into the resort which has this and a small pool for babies. Where the beds are in the pool there's also a shallow bit for babies/kids the play in as well. There was a problem with not enough umbrellas at the start of our stay but management acted quickly and all sunbeds had umbrellas and canopies were being put up as we were leaving. The food is the best I've had! Not one bad meal. We had gone to Ikos for the past 4 years but I'd say the food and cocktails are much better here. We managed to get into the restaurants and all the food was great - especially the Italian, Asian and Greek. We loved the farm experience - their honey is to die for! Our 4 year old loved getting involved with the cooking and feeding the animals. All the staff were very helpful and friendly - Veronica in guest services was great at helping with a few issues we had with our neighbours. The buffet setting is so nice to sit in. The outside square is such a nice environment for a buffet. The Brassiere is also lovely for lunch - the burger is so good, as well as the milkshakes! We loved the Greek 'village' - my only feedback would be for the coffee house to be open during the day as an actual coffee house - although I do get what they're doing here and it is a lovely setting for an evening wine. The kids club is great. We didn't leave our little boy there but we did go and join in the activities with him. We particularly loved pirate day. It's evident the kids loved it too - so many there. It was also lovely seeing the kids still wearing their pirates hat and crowns the next day. The newly renovated sea view rooms are fab - loved the decor. They're obviously still putting some finishing touches. Every day we'd come back to our room with something new which we found highly entertaining. The showers are incredible (no cold water trickles here!) It was just a lovely relaxed environment the whole holiday. This is the first holiday we've come away saying 'we can't wait to come back'. We'll definitely be booking again for next year. I didn't think we'd top Ikos but we're firmly Grecotel fans now!"
Aquila Porto Rethymno
"Reception: very mixed - on arrival very friendly , but , after very dismissive and rude all week . We had purchased a room with late check out and asked would we be moved on day of check out, told no, room was ours until our coach would pick us up. Day before departure we were told we had to move rooms . We booked a seafront room, be aware this is over a busy street. Could not sit out on the balcony as fumes and noise from the street disrupted the enjoyment of reading a book. No sound proofing, so woken up early most mornings early by street noise . Asked for an iron and ironing board - just got the iron and told use the bed as a “board”. Put the clean sign on one morning, by late afternoon the room still wasn’t cleaned. When we chased, we had a very angry cleaner come to room and tell us we had the sign wrong and then admitted we were right . Up till then we had tipped daily for cleaning. The next night we had wet towels thrown on the bed . Not sure why ! On the last day we approached by we believe a manger - offered free lunch or massage . I still dont know why ! We said no as we had dinner the first night when we got in and service was poor ( felt not wanted) and food was not great."
Macaris Suites & Spa
"Everything was more than perfect. We got a small room upgrade, a nice gesture. The hotel is well located, the rooms (apartment) are large, very clean and very well equipped. On the 4th floor no problem with the road below. Same with the swimming pool which is great. Bar available during the day. Barbecue evening every Wednesday evening is very cool. ALL the staff are super nice and competent. The SPA is perfect, Mariana is super attentive and super professional. Great stay at Macaris 👍👍"
Ikones Seafront Luxury Suites
"Everything was perfect!!! From the location, services, staff, food, amenities, private beach, EVERYTHING!!!! Every night at the bar was another show (live music, dj),"
Grecotel Plaza Beach House
"I had an excellent time here at Grecotel Plaza Beach House, 10/10 experience. It is located in Rethymno about a 35 minute walk from Old Town and the beach is across the street so it offers a beautiful view from their restaurant. I have so many wonderful things to say but I will start with the bartender Michael. He is extremely skilled at making drinks that are both delicious and aesthetically pleasing. He has a clear passion for what he does. He always engaged in conversation and was happy to explain different drinks to me and I really enjoyed the rapport we had. Also Kalliopi the receptionist is extremely friendly and approachable. She was extremely helpful in coordinating transportation for us and I really enjoyed talking to her. Finally, Theodoris the maître d’ was very warm and hospitable. He always made a point to come talk to us and was very kind. I will also mention that my boyfriend was sick overnight and they offered to make him soup and checked in with him throughout the day which really meant a lot. The hotel itself is beautiful and well kept, the room was spacious and the housekeepers did a very good job keeping our room clean throughout the week. I’d say you get your money’s worth for sure and the people were what made this stay so special. I definitely recommend this hotel."
Minos Hotel
"Rude personal in the restaurant. Bad service, it seems like they preferred german and mediterrainian guests, cause they smile and gave them better service. As Sweds we where overlooked. Even if we kindly asked for permitt to sit together in the family due to our weddingday celebration, it got negotiated."
Rethymno Village
"We stayed at this hotel recently and overall had a pleasant experience, but there are a few things future guests should be aware of. The hotel itself is lovely and very clean, with housekeeping in every day. The pool area is great, and we had no issues getting a sunbed, even during busy times. The food is good quality, although the choice is limited — what’s available is tasty, just not a wide selection. However, the all‑inclusive offering is extremely basic. It includes beer, wine and soft drinks only. There are no spirits, no cocktails, and the drinks that are available are watered down. This will be disappointing for anyone expecting a standard all‑inclusive package. There is no entertainment, so evenings are very quiet. You only receive one key per room, which can be inconvenient. There are no toiletries provided such as shampoo or body lotion. The snack bar isn’t really a snack bar — very limited options. A designated smoking area near the dining area would also be helpful. Overall, it’s a clean, pleasant hotel with good food and a nice pool, but the “all inclusive” is not what most people would expect, and is something to consider before booking."

Anita Beach Hotel- Adults Only
"Clean and tidy hotel, 1min walk from the beach. Breakfast basic but everything you need, staff friendly and helpfu"
Trefon Hotel Apartments and Family Suites
"Lovely apartment with balconies overlooking the pool and a beautiful view of the sunrise. The beach was a very short walk away and was lovely. We were self catering, but couldn’t resist the breakfast and the lady hosting was so friendly and helpful. The reception staff were equally helpful- even posting my phone home when I left it behind on our last day. Easy transfers from the airport and bus tickets available in the supermarket for simple travel along the coast."
Blue Sky Hotel Apartments
"No shower curtain dangerous floods bathroom as not a wet room if you manage to get a hot shower.. bathroom window lock broken.. broken TV brocken wall socket took five days to replace.. reception staff don't speak good English...pub next door but one beautiful in day turns into a club at night can't sleep till after 1 pm when music turned down not soundproof rooms Very noisy dark musty smell from room not been refurbished since looks like the 70s charge 2 euros a day for old lock safe..4 euros day air con never used can't open windows due to noise hot. As for the pool not a chance has that been inspected or cleaned professionally owner puts a cloth on end of rod to remove mould. Rooms in web site must be in a different hotel ...no clothes rack to dry towels...no bath Matt for two days had to use towel so not to slip when going loo. Should be inspected as would not rate any stars..would not want any body else to have to experience this dirty dingy bed sit."
La Stella Suites
"Mary and her team at this hotel go above and beyond. Always there to help and all very attentive. The hotel is spotless and the room have everything that is required. Will definitely return again in the future. Thank you Mary and team ❤️"
Elina Hotel Apartments
"Excellent location just minutes from the beach and promenade. Plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries, etc. in the immediate vicinity. The pool wasn't very large but it was wonderful for cooling off. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. We had an apartment at the front of the hotel with a nice balcony. The street is quite busy/lively, but once the doors and windows are closed, you don't notice it anymore. We didn't book breakfast at the hotel, but there are lovely places nearby for breakfast. Free parking in the area can be a challenge, but there is plenty of paid parking."
Kriti Beach Hotel
"Excellent location, good food and value for money. The service from staff was of a high standard. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. All areas within the hotel were also kept clean to a high standard. This hotel is a smaller hotel but you are in Rethymno where all the action is from culture to tourism and much more."
Kyma Suites Beach Hotel
"I recently stayed with my partner and we had the most incredible time. The staff are attentive and will go the extra mile to make your stay a memorable one. The views from the rooms with sea view are fantastic. Highly recommend paying extra for these. We stayed in the deluxe sweet and were blown away by how great the room was. The beach is a short walk away and you can use the facilities at their sister hotel, which is immediately opposite the beach. There are plenty of restaurants brach side and near the old town. The views from the balcony in the deluxe room were so good I decided to propose there! The staff were also great at helping me set up. The only downside I'd say is that the pictures don't do it justice!"
Atermono Boutique Resort & Spa
"This is an incredible experience . So nice everything. The architecture, the pool , the room. Services are good, the staff so nice, the food is very good. We really really enjoy every moment. We arrived here after a bad experience elsewhere and here we really enjoy. The breakfast is also perfect. "
Aegean Pearl
"One of the hotel’s greatest strengths is its incredibly friendly staff – everyone makes you feel welcome and at ease. Everything is spotless, and having two pools is a big plus (though it’s a pity that loungers are often “reserved” with towels and left unused). The food is excellent with a wide selection for both breakfast and dinner. Evening entertainment was decent, and the 30-minute walk to the city center is manageable. There are bikes available for rent at the front (not owned by the hotel), but activation can take a while, especially if your phone number isn’t accepted. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-kept, with a welcome basket of fruit and a bottle of wine. The bathroom is open-style, which might not suit everyone – as two friends traveling together, it wasn’t always convenient. We were lucky to receive an upgrade, and I would definitely choose Aegean Pearl (5★) again over Pearl Beach. The only downside was the number of mosquitoes – not the hotel’s fault, but keep doors and windows closed and ask reception for a mosquito device. Overall, a wonderful stay and highly recommended! "
Minos Ambassador Suites & Spa - Adults Only
"Stayed here for 2 weeks in July. Lovely spacious rooms, great air con, fab shower, room cleaned every day to a high standard. Great pool area on the smaller side, but enough sunbeds, we would get a couple of beds when we came down for breakfast around 10 am. Pool great could even swim as most people just popped in for a cool off and then got out. Stayed half board, food was great we really enjoyed. Bars, restaurants and the beach a few mins walk away. Old town Rethymnon appox 20 mins walk. The drop off is a bit strange as you get dropped off at the hotel next door. It was a bit confusing as there was no one to greet us and tell us where to go. Had a great time, lovely hotel and profesional and friendly staff."
Palazzino di Corina
"This accommodation offers a very cozy and classic atmosphere. A simple yet refined breakfast is provided, and the quiet surroundings are ideal for relaxation."
Olympic Palladium
"We enjoyed our stay, it is above a 3 stars hotel. Cleaning was done everyday in our room, the breakfast was more than enough & good and the location is a mix of being close to the old city & beaches. The stuff was very nice & we had no problems with the air conditioning, it had 2 levels high & low and we mostly put it on low."
Nefeli Hotel
"Cosy hotel in very quiet area, located 45 minutes drive from Heraklion airport and 10 minutes bus ride from Rethymno. If you prefer you can walk to Rethymno along the beach which will take you approx. 45 minutes. Bech is 5 minutes walk from hotel, just across the road. As for hotel rooms they are nice, clean and just big enough, placed in two story segments spread around beautiful garden. Rooms are cleaned on daily basis, All hotel staff is very nice and friendly, always willing to assist with anything you need. There is rich variety of food covering both local and standard cuisine, The chief waiter will assign you a table and dinner time that will be yours for whole stay, better stick with assigned meal time to avoid unnecesary confusions. There is a nice bar at the pool where you can chill out before or after dinner. The pool itself is quite small, definitely not for swimmers. There are numerous suvenir shops around however you will find much better prices in Rethymno. You may take a bus to get there or more convenient to rent a car and use it for exploring the island. All in all staying in hotel was a very pleasant experience, would definitely recommend it to couples (without kids though)."
Forest Park Hotel
"Good things: 1) Nice outdoor area by the pool 2) Nice and panoramic view of the city and 3) Kind personnel working in the pool Bad things: 1) Paid 100 euros more for an exceptional room with panoramic view . The room had the view BUT: The room was situated in floor -1 . The expensive room was half the size of a cheaper room! The cheaper rooms were in floor 2!!!So i paid 100 euros more for a much worst romom 2) The size of the room was really small and unconveninet, -no place to set your luggage and imagine I was alone. It should be a nightmare for 2 people 3) No Greek TV channel; only German; I told them that greek TV channels were not available and they told me they will look at it; They never did 4) extremely low quality internet; almost non operational, there were times I could not browse my mails ;again refering to the floor where my 'panoramic view' romm was located 5) The linen had a smell from clothes that wree left in the laundry and not dried properly; really terrible 6) Breakfast was terrible; Really the worst breakfast I ever seen; This is in contrast to the exceptional philoxenia and quality all over the city of Rethymno; great paraphony 7) Impersonal personell at reception; very impersonal 8) Noise; Huge noise in the -1 floor; not sure on the rest 9) No mosquito blockers on the windows; No anti-mosquito devices 10) Worst coffee I ever had on a greek hotel General: Very poor management of a property with a huge potential; Suggestion: You cannot ask people pay more for worst rooms; rooms pay less. Fix all the above as they are easy to fix; especially 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 points is really an easy fix ;"
Theartemis Palace
"Good hotel"
Melrose Rethymno by Mage Hotels
"It was my boyfriend’s first time in Greece, so I’ve decided to give him the best possible experience. Our accommodation couldn’t be anything other than Melrose hotel in Rethymno. We were amazed by the kindness of staff, quality of room service and diversity of breakfast options. The hotel is based near the clean and sandy beach, close to the supermarket and only a few steps away from the city center which makes the visitation convenient, comfortable and fun. We are looking forward to visit you again! Miss you and all the cats in Rethymno!"
Menta City Boutique Hotel
"Normal services, decent location, good breakfast"
Atrium Ambiance Hotel
"Location: This was perfect for us - we didn’t want to be too close to town but also not too far. It’s about 20 minutes walk along the seafront, which is just 2 minutes away. Hotel: The hotel is modern and clean. Some of the corridors are open to the air and it can mean that the noise travels. Room Location: Number 401. Our room was supposed to be a “Twin Deluxe Room (Poolview)” - it wasn’t in a twin setup but that wasn’t a problem. Unfortunately we only got a corner view of the pool. I deliberately booked this type of room as others had mentioned it was quieter than the street view. On some hotel web sites it is described as “courtyard facing” (rather than road) with a pool view. What we actually had was a pool bar view and road. This meant that it was very noisy on the entertainment nights; and although the entertainment did not go on too late, the banging Ibiza music did. We really couldn’t be bothered packing up again and the desk told us there were only 2 nights with entertainment so we made do with ear plugs. The room was cleaned daily and the sheets changed after 3 nights. Plenty of storage. The water temperature was very hit and miss. My husband would come out of the shower complaining it was cold and then when I got in it was fine! Strange but the hair dryer had a really short cord which made drying my hair very difficult lol! Generally I didn’t sleep very well, but that wasn’t the fault of the hotel - other than what appeared to be an alarm test at 4am one morning when we all traipsed down to the pool. Nobody seemed to be in charge of the evacuation, which I found very odd. We all just milled around and then went back in when the alarm stopped. Food: Was always plentiful if a little boring. I have to say that I did experience a bad tummy on our departure morning which I can directly relate to part of my meal the previous night. It was annoying that there are no drinks included with the evening meal - even water, tea or coffee! Staff: All the staff were brilliant, especially Nikos who helped us understand a bit more about Greek beers. Overall my opinion is that the hotel isn’t bad (if you get the right room) but it’s not spectacular either. My adjective would be “unremarkable”"
Rimondi Boutique Hotel - Small Luxury Hotels of the World
"Great location, nice rooms (we were treated to a free upgrade). Nice breakfast with fresh orange juice served in the courtyard. No parking in immediate vicinity, but you can usually find a free spot close to the sea. Quality of tea served on the premises could be improved, same for toiletries."
