The place is quite, peaceful, and clean. The staff is very helpful and they did more than enough to ensure that all our requests are received. We’ve had the venue as well and it was so nice, highly recommended

Check in was a palava, arrived at 7.30pm and had to phone the out of hours check in. Was not emailed a code (not sure why as booked through business account). Manager did respond to text message and sent code. On arrival the room was hot, in the middle of a heat wave! The portable air con unit was a fan at best and did not really cool the room much. Room was nicely furnished, bed was super comfy. Some little irritations like the tea/coffee station being on a table that was less than knee high, I am only 5’4 and it came up to my shin. Had to bend ridiculously just to make a cup of tea. Mirror in bathroom was shoulder height so I had to bend again to put my make up on. The TV was attached to the wall, as a single traveller it was ok as I was able to move all the way over to the right side of the bed. If I was part of a couple the person on the left of the bed would not be able to see the TV as the four poster bed and drapes blocked the view. No restaurant on site, so had to go to the local pub for dinner which was fine. It also meant no breakfast. In general this is a beautiful venue, a wedding or party would be perfect. Personally I prefer a good old Premier Inn purely for the air con/heating system, perfectly formed bathroom and easy to watch tv

Myself and my wife Lorna, celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at The Old Rectory and it was an unforgettable night, not only for all the friends and family who came but also because of the amazing staff and organization of everyone who works there. There was not one negative comment from one person about anything. Euan and Alex were on bar duty and generally looking after people were brilliant, the buffet was just amazing, and wonderfully presented, and again the staff were great. We had all bedrooms booked for family and friends, and they were all in awe of the way the bedrooms are presented. It is a fantastic old building having been restored in such a sympathetic manner. We cannot praise Ellie, the events organiser, enough. She took us through all the arrangements for the party, and was always on hand to answer any questions no matter how small. The breakfast Sunday morning provided by the catering company, was also excellent. Also, the lovely Jackie who was on cleaning duty on Sunday, deserves a mention, as she has time to stop and chat with a flash of Irish charm. Overall we cannot speak highly enough of The Old Rectory and would recommend it to anyone who wants the perfect experience for a special party. Once again a massive thank you to Ellie, Euan, Alex, Jackie and the caterers for giving us truly magical night we will always remember. Thank you everybody. Nick and Lorna .

We booked our wedding here for May 2025 and the place was perfect. Ellie was always on hand since we viewed the place until the wedding day and ensured the day ran smoothly. She and the whole team were absolutely amazing. Greg and the team behind the bar on the night were really helpful and sorted out any issues or requests we had. Jackie and the catering team in the morning couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Many of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and how delicious the food was. The site is stunning with the old grade 2 listed building making a beautiful backdrop to the rest of the grounds. It was such a happy occasion and the team did an amazing job at keeping it stress free. Thank you Ellie and the Old Rectory team for making the day so special.

When we got there the place was desserted after half hour we finally got email with code to get in. The room looked very nice small it ok until we looked at the bed it was smaller than a double bigger than a single myself and hubby are not small and my hubby is 6'6 we barely fit on bed he was in army can sleep anywhere i had 2 nights of barely any sleep due to lack of space. The tea/coffee making facilities had 2 teabags 2 coffee 2 milk 2 sugar when we texted hotel (as there was no staff whole time we was there and we was only guests) they said that was supplied and would be replaced next day there was no where near enough we had to go out and buy milk sugar and teabags. The next day nothing was replenished. It was very surreal to stay in hotel with no staff at all. Wasn't a good experience it wasn't clearly marked on booking about bed

Lovely Venue in a beautiful setting tucked away. We attended for a business strategy day and the team couldn't have done enough for us. The lunch was delicious. Thank you to Ellie for making it a great day - hopefully next time some warmer weather!
