The Beacon Hotel ★★
"4/09/24: I'm a Londoner and this was my third time of staying at the Beacon- it wasn't planned- but roadworks on the M1 & torrential rain meant I returned- without a booking ! The manager was very welcoming, and I had a mate with me, but I snore, so I managed to get the last two rooms- luckily! This hotel is exceptional: very well located (Morrisons 10 mins, buses 4 mins, train 5 mins!), immaculately clean and quiet, great rooms, and a kitchen where you can make your own food and store in in their fridge! HOW many places offer that! There's a courtyard for smokers, there's VERY welcoming staff, there is a BIG breakfast room and it's a 1- minute walk to the waterfront! Abfab! Peter Gregory"
Claxton Hotel ★★★
"Friendly staff Great breakfast Excellent restaurant offer simple home cooked food."
Red Barns Bed & Breakfast ★★★
"Not sure how many times we've stopped over here now, everytime is as good as the previous one, free secure parking , clean, tidy, welcoming, great food and friendly, extremely helpful hosts . I'd recommend without hesitation, we'll definitely be back!"
The Lakeside ★★
"STAY AWAY - SAFETY AND PRIVACY BREACH My Partner and I had a terrifying experience here. Despite being told we needed 5 minutes as my wife was in the shower, a male staff member ignored us and forced entry into our room with a master key. He was extremely aggressive, screaming and intimidating us. He even pursued us running from downstairs as we tried to flee the building in tears. Beyond the harassment, the room was in poor condition with a water leak and no working heater (we had to text the receptionist just to get heat). This is a dangerous environment for couples and a total violation of privacy. We have reported this to the police and Trip.com. Do not stay here."
Park Hotel ★★★
"The staff was very kind, and very helpful. I was traveling alone, and it was my first time in the area. I didn't expect much from a travel hotel, but I really appreciated how they took care of any concerns and questions I had. "
