Holiday Inn Express & Suites Red Wing

Trash can overflowing at entrance. Food left in the refrigerator. Great shower, and decent bed. Nice work space, closet, space for suitcases. Breakfast was decent, nice variety of food choices. Very good coffee. Workout are and pool looked clean.

Not impressed with this hotel. Check-in staff needed more training. Room was facing US 61 so traffic noise was notable. Requested "upgrade" to room on arrival, anticipating no change in charge and was not advised of change in charge. Fortunately, received notice from my CC of the charge shortly thereafter. Went down to correct charge but staff unable to do so, advised me to return to speak with a manager after 8 p.m. At that return, the afternoon staff said manager not available until after our planned checkout (8 a.m). Fortunately, I stopped at the desk to discuss with staff and was advised that she was the manager. She apologized that the staff had not advised us of upcharge and said she would adjust the charge. As we were on the road again, a new notice from credit card for a charge (not a refund) of $30.00+. Sigh, back to contacting them when possible. Breakfast however was nice with more selection than usual for a HIE. Room was adequate other than road noise.

We travel on a motorcycle and were very pleased to find this hotel just as rain was starting. Meesha and Dionte were working the front desk and were incredibly welcoming and went above expectations to find the best rate for us. The hotel feels and looks brand new and checked all the boxes for a HIE property, including the cinnamon buns. Doing a load of laundry is a necessity when traveling on a bike and this was the first hotel EVER to have free detergent and dryer sheets!! Everything here was super clean, QUIET and comfy!

We booked a queen suite and when we arrived, the furnace was not working. The room was incredibly warm. The toilet would not flush. We went down to let them know. They told us there were no other suites available. They gave us a keycard to use a smaller room for the bathroom and we were to await the maintenance man. We checked several times throughout the evening and the maintenance man did not arrive. There was also no manager to speak to. The room smelled due to the toilet issue, the room temperature was unbearable, and you cannot ask little kids to go the bathroom down the hall late at night, so we moved to a smaller room. The next morning we asked again to speak to a manager, but there was no manager there. When we checked out Sunday, they did not refund us the difference between the price of the rooms. We feel that would have been the honorable thing to do and were very disappointed. The breakfast buffet had trouble keeping food stocked for people, which was also disappointing. We would not stay in this hotel again.

This newish mid-priced hotel checks all the boxes, the rooms are large, bright & airy along with the lobby. It was spotless and quiet. It had one of the best complimentary breakfast options at this price point. The laundry was convenient and clean. They also had complimentary detergent, a nice touch. This a great place to stay. Normally I stay at the AmericInn next door, but I had some IHG points to burn off. Not that the AmericInn is a bad place, but I would probably stay here more often if points weren't a factor. I'm a Marriott Rewards lifetime platinum member (10 years of at least 50 nights a year) and I have a huge cache of Wyndham points because their brands are popular in small towns.

We made our reservation a year in advance with a family wedding block. Reserved a Double Queen Suite for my Husband and I and my Mother. I called early Sat 9/17/22 @ 9am to ensure we could check in by 3pm to catch the 3:15pm shuttle bus to wedding venue. I was told that would be fine. We had to get dressed on lobby & public restroom because our room was not ready! Then was told I needed to run a Different card, We finally got into a room with a Wet Slippery floor at 3:20pm, but it was Not the queen suite I reserved! Front desk was of no help, as she said it was 1st come 1st serve? I booked my room online 1yr in advance! This is not typical Holiday Inn Customer Experience!

Stayed for almost 3 weeks, great crew, awesome regional manager. Nothing is too hard and willing to go the extra mile to fulfill any requests. Fairly new facilities, comfy bed (in my option). Breakfast included. I would always be happy to return if I stay in Red Wing again.
