"10/10 Location, right next to Skogafoss! One can sit at the restaurant and enjoy the view. There were 4 veg options in the menu, we had burger and pasta, it was good. The breakfast spread in the morning was delicious and had lots of of options. There is 24*7 hot chocolate and coffee machine access. The staff was very friendly. The room was sufficient sized and decent sized washroom. It was a cozy stay, would 100% recommend it."

"The scenery is excellent. At the foot of a mountain, there should be a hut for watching the aurora. It's a pity that we didn't see the aurora during the summer. The location is not far from Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss and Vik Black Beach. You can choose here for these three attractions. The facilities in the house are very new, and the heating is turned on in advance. Icelanders really don't know how to promote it. A good house looks like a rough house in photos. The housekeeper didn't speak English well, but he still communicated clearly. Other comments are helpful. To get the password, you can keep calling until they answer the phone. If that doesn't work, you can try your luck on the spot. You will see the women cleaning up the house working nearby."

Clear views of the skies and though it was cloudy we got photographic Northern Lights. The house was well equipped with a kitchen, electric boiler, comfortable sitting area and porch. "When we arrived at the hotel that night, it was past 8 o'clock and the restaurant was closed. The waiter took out a simple map and patiently explained the locations of nearby restaurants. The breakfast was buffet style, richer than expected and very satisfying. The hotel is very uniquely decorated and has many card slots. There is free parking and the location is convenient, just 5 minutes away from the Lava Centre."

"This is a nice hotel just off the Ring Road. Very comfortable room, and it had everything we needed. The hot tub was nice to relax in. The breakfast buffet was expansive, and they offer a pack your own lunch option for guests if they'd like to pack a lunch."

"Accommodation was great - amazing location, nice small cottage where we found everything we needed. HOWEVER the check-in process was really terrible experience. We called to the phone number that we found on the hotel website - it means we followed the check-in process as it stated in confirmation email. Lady told us code that we had to use to get into cottage but we could not understood precisely the number. So we asked her to repeat slowly. She told us she can’t repeat it and hang up the phone. After that we couldn’t call her back - she probably block my number so my friend tried to call her, she blocked also her phone number. So we called her through Trip - she picked up and after we told her we want to check in I to North Star cottage she again hang up. So my friend went to the cottage door and tried combinations of number to unlock the door - otherwise we wouldn’t sleep in the cottage this night. Really terrible experience and unprofessional behaviour of staff. Definitely not recommending."
