Crowne Plaza Qingdao Ocean Spring Resort Reviews

My kids and I spent a week in Qingdao and stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. It turned out to be a lovely getaway. The room was clean, well-stocked with everything we needed, and offered a stunning ocean view—plus, we were treated to fireworks every evening right from our window, which was a magical touch. Breakfast was available every morning with a good range of options; we appreciated the variety. Room service was a hit with the kids—they couldn’t get enough of the spaghetti bolognaise and popcorn chicken! I personally enjoyed the club sandwich and the beef noodles. We devoted an entire day to the water park, where the kids had an absolute blast. Although some parts of it could use renovation, it didn’t dampen our fun. One of our favorite activities was cruising around the resort on four-wheel e-bikes—it felt like a private adventure since much of the area was quiet and fairly abandoned, but that added a special charm. The beach is also just across the road, so you can go play in the sand at any time, there are also some men who offer horse and jet ski rides right on the beach. The beach also isn’t too crowded. The only drawback was the resort’s location. It’s quite far from most of Qingdao’s main attractions, so every excursion required at least an hour-long Didi ride. Still, the experience was well worth it, and we genuinely enjoyed our stay. We’d absolutely return again.

Facilities are a bit worn-out, with pools not fully functional. Room was clean, also in need of renovation. Staff was friendly, but hardly spoke English. Great deal for hot springs, included in the stay, with direct access from the hotel. Beach access was under renovation, and the sand was full of seaweed. All restaurants were open, affordable with delicious food, specially the Japanese restaurant.

Review of Crowne Plaza Qingdao Haiwan (Qingdao Hai Quan Wan Huang Guan Jia Ri Du Jia Jiu Dian) ★☆☆☆☆ 1/5 – Worst Vacation Experience, Left After One Night We had booked a several night stay in June 2025 at Crowne Plaza Qingdao Haiwan, but the conditions were so terrible that we had to change hotels after just one night. Unacceptable Problems: ❌ Shockingly Dated Property – The hotel is extremely run-down, with visible mold covering walls in hallways and our room. The musty smell gave us headaches. ❌ False Advertising of Amenities The beach had zero facilities – no umbrellas, loungers. ❌ Health Hazards – Our bathroom had black mold around the shower. Final Verdict: We paid premium prices but got dirty, broken facilities instead of a vacation. The front desk just shrugged when we complained.

A great hotel for relaxation! Comfortable and clean rooms with wonderful sea views. Pleasant staff, special thanks to aLina for helping. The breakfast is varied, there are restaurants and many other entertainment options. The hot springs on the street were especially appreciated

This was an excellent place for a truly relaxing weekend! The package that includes the hot springs is totally recommended. The hotel's indoor pool is in excellent condition, staff are friendly and the rooms are beautiful. I will definitely visit again.

Second stay at this hotel, and I must say that the communication has improved. Room cleanliness was terrible. Bathroom had sand on the floor, old fruit left on table. Breakfast was not great with not a lot of options. Being a member of the hotel group, I was not treated as other members. Overall it was an okay stay.

This hotel has super friendly staff, we are very happy with the hospitality and we definitely visit again in the future. Highly recommended! Nice ocean views , super clean room with delicious food served.

Very quiet in weekdays. Original 5 star hotel but a bit tired now. Great services at front desk.

The location was perfect for a couple getaway. We chose this hotel because it was away from the busy city. It was right by the sea and also close to the mountain where we could go for a drive. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The only downside was that most of the restaurants in the hotel were closed- probably because we went during off season. Despite that, we would go again! The view from our 8th floor room was spectacular!

Its like living a castle . Great for family vacation or couple . Clean beach but wish the outdoor pool was not closed . 4 x different restaurants in one place place from Japanese to German beer 🍺. Bedrooms were big and bathrooms were too . Affordable price for a short stay: Overall experience was great for 1-2 night stay for couples and families

Basically, everything was good BUT some small improvements/renovation should be done We had Very Good breakfast but very few options in the evening, only 2 restaurants with lack of choice for western food, we had to use room service The most important not to the hotel but to the local govermnent - why the embankment is destroyed??? it is even dangerous to go there

The Hotel location is good even far away from downtown but quiet place and directly on the beach side. Rooms and price are within a reasonable price range. Breakfast variants of choices. The hotel is a bit old and need a renovation.
