Good but need improvement in some points

A truthful review.. I would not recommend this hotel - 3* at best. We recently returned from a 7 night stay at this hotel as a couple, and unfortunately, it did not live up to its 5-star rating. It’s a 3-star hotel at best. Our holiday started with a room upgrade at check in (which was quick) but when we were taken to our room, the room was flooded. We were then told to wait in the restaurant while the room was cleaned. Once we returned we were initially pleased with the spaciousness but soon released how dated the room was. Housekeeping came everyday but instead of a proper clean it was more of a quick tidy up and the bedding/ towels were NOT changed everyday. The food was VERY repetitive and limited, we found it really hard to find decent food to eat. We felt the food was not catered to English people and the meat wasn’t great. Whilst eating in the restaurant, staff would offer fresh juice drinks and only once you’ve taken a sip would they mention it’s an additional cost we had to pay. My partner got food positioning on day 3 which wiped out day 4 and for the rest of the holiday it was tough to eat properly. Once we informed the hotel staff, they were very helpful! A doctor came to the hotel room and treated my partner with medication and the hotel provided sick meals and checked in daily. We were really happy with the service after the food poisoning. The grounds themselves were pretty and well maintained, we liked the amount of greenery and rivers running through the hotel. We always managed to find two beds in the pool area which meant we didn’t have to rush down in the mornings. The pool bar however, would run out of beer and doesn’t serve wine. The music around the pool area was incredibly loud which is not very relaxing although it wasn’t on all the time. When the music did play, the same one song was repeated at least 3 times, multiple times throughout the week which was very annoying. There wasn’t much pool area entertainment in the day. Lastly, the staff were incredibly rude and slightly mocking. Given all of these issues, we would not recommend this hotel to anyone and definitely would not return. The hotel is not the 5-star it claims to be, so keep your expectations low and it was not worth what we paid for it. The bad reviews on Tripadvisor are valid.
