Wattura Resort & Spa

When you come to Sri Lanka it is usually late, so you can either do a long drive south or go to Colombo or Negumbo. On this occasion we chose Negumbo. There is a ***** of hotels in the main road of the town which houses some very nice hotels. This time I chose Wattura, a little bit further and so worth it. It is a fantastic welcome to Sri Lanka. Bounded by a river and the sea including the actual river mouth. Beautiful beach to dip into and very clean. If it’s not the beach then a pristine pool sits in the center of the resort. Rooms are beautiful we took a villa and it was stunning, comes with butler service, 2 stories and its own plunge pool facing the beach with a private garden. It was so regal and comfortable Staff were great Yasas was our butler and was on hand with a smile and willing to assist in any way. The dining room is relaxing and the breakfast nis a perfect welcome bro Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 Daily specials bundled with a lion beer. Great managment Sujeeva was so helpful and made the entire experience smooth

We were extremely lucky to start our Sr Lanka tour with a stay in this wonderful hotel. All the staff were superb, friendly, hardworking and extremely kind. Our room, living area and bathroom were extremely spacious. The food was excellent too. The hotel grounds lead onto the beach where you can see a wonderful sunset. Thank you to everyone for a relaxing, amazing time. We would recommend and would love to return.

Incredible hotel, very quiet and in a private manner. Rooms are huge with all necessary (and above) usables. Biggest impression is made by the service, everyone literally wants to help you:) Breakfast and dinners are served via carte in a luxurious way which is way above competition. I highly recommend the hotel!!

After a long flight well pleasant surprise to come to this tranquil surrounding the food and the staff were excellent. Everything was immaculately clean and we were made to feel very welcome. Would highly recommend a stay here. We were only booked for one night which we would’ve stayed longer.

Our stay was marked by exceptional service from start to finish. The staff were incredibly attentive, always greeting us with a friendly smile and going out of their way to accommodate every request. You truly feel pampered and well taken care of here. The facilities are impressive on paper. The room we stayed in was spacious, spotless, and boasted a stunning view of the lagoon. The gym was well-equipped, the spa provided a relaxing escape, and the pool area was well-maintained with plenty of loungers, including some with views toward the beach. Breakfast was lavish, offering an extensive selection of dishes – almost overwhelming at times – and the evening dining experience was also enjoyable. However, despite these positives, the price-to-quality ratio fell short in our opinion. Both the room rates and the dining prices are on the high side, and while the amenities are plentiful, they lack a certain charm and atmosphere that would make the experience truly special. The setting is beautiful, but it feels like it’s missing a cohesive ambiance to tie everything together. In summary, if you’re seeking exceptional service and a well-maintained environment, this property delivers. But if you’re expecting a vibrant atmosphere or a stronger connection between price and overall experience, it may leave you wanting.
