The hotel itself is located far from any infrastructure facilities high in the mountains. Part of the road to the hotel is not paved, so not every taxi driver will be ready to take you to the door.
The place is secluded, designed for a small number of guests, on the territory there is a small pool with a beautiful view and a restaurant with a good (for the island of Java) selection of beer. By the way, they cook here also excellently.
The trip to the beach will take (according to Google maps) 40 minutes one way, in theory you can call a taxi, but in practice we did not use this option since we stayed only for 1 night.
The staff is welcoming, friendly, for a long vacation the place is certainly not the most convenient, but to spend a couple of days in wonderful idleness delighting the eye with amazing sunsets is definitely worth it.

This was a return visit for me. Last time I was here with my family. This time a business trip took me close enough to hop over for a couple of days. I love the view and can relax and chill like nowhere else. Marvellous place to recharge your batteries.

Nice place to get away from it all. No beach access, so the beach is an 'intereting ' trip back down the hill, and a challenging climb back home.

The Edge Resort is a stunning place with amazing views. Surrounded by forest we experienced the peace and beauty of the natural environment all around us. Lying in the infinity pool looking out over the ocean was idyllic. The staff were friendly and helpful, always wanting to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. The restaurant in an ancient Javanese house, served a range of both Indonesian and Western dishes to a high standard. The buffet breakfast was particularly delicious!

A Treasure Westerners have to discover We stayed here four days after spending the first half of the week doing the sights around Yoyakarta. The hotel is on top of the cliff looking over the miles long beach on the Indian Ocean. Highlights: the view, sunset, hearing the waves Chicken satay served at the table with your own BBQ of hot coals - fantastic taste Infinity pool which merges with the ocean Spacious and well equipped rooms each with a stunning view of the ocean Use Grab taxi to have a trip down to the beach and back and sample last nights catch if tiger prawns and mini crabs - or hire a jeep for a beach ride (it’s the dine thing!), or walk 1km to the viewing point and restaurants at Obelix

Very impressive experience. Love the beautiful scene and stone room. It's also the best place to see the sunset and take foto. Only the natural sounds from the south sea and birds, no noise, that's also keep me calm and relaxed. I have heard a lot of stories about this hotel. It's also a recyclable program that helps people improve their income in GunungKidul . Ont interesting thing is, the last one kilometers towards to hotel is very bumpy,"original and undeveloped" please be patient and brave. It's deserved. 非常令人印象深刻的一次体验。 超喜欢海边的景色和石头屋，适合看日落和拍照。民宿里很安静，客人不多，只有南海的自然声音和鸟鸣声，没有噪音，这可以让我感到放松。 我听过很多关于这家酒店的故事，屋主是两位退休的教授，他们结合了可持续发展的理念，邀请 GunungKidul 附近的村民来修建房子，打理环境，提高他们的收入。 有趣的是，前往酒店的最后一公里非常颠簸，“原始且未开发”，请保持耐心和勇气，因为之后会“柳暗花明又一村” 。

This is nice hotel with Breath taking view and nice small swimming pool. The restaurant serve wonderful Indonesian meals. You can see the sun set clearly from the restaurant or the pool since the hotel was located on top of a hill in a Clift 300 feet above the ocean. The only problem is (otherwise i will give a 5 star review) This hotel is located far away from beach or the nearest town (about 20 mins ride using a motorcycle). The road is not pave or asphalt and you need to spend about $15 for a shuttle car from the hotel.
