What a beautiful hotel! For the price, I wasn’t expecting much—but I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve stayed in far worse hotels for more than double the cost of the Wyvern. The room was clean and modern and the staff was extremely friendly. Will definitely stay here again if I’m ever back in Punta Gorda!

I found this hotel and two other Ascend hotels I have stayed in to be the finest in the Choice Hotels selection. Updated and very clean.

My wife and I ascended to the rooftap bar for an evening cocktail. We were served two $15.00 drinks in squat plastic cups. I remarked about the plastic to the bartender and he justified it by telling me about the wind. We have had cocktails at many high altitude lounges around the world and never received them in plastic - including a few in the "windy city" Chicago. In addition to the plastic we were treated to watching the bartender and another employee scrool through their phones while 11 people were sitting at the bar.

I visited their restaurant named 88 keys. They have a new chef. His name is Chef John and the salad, beef tips with mushrooms and mashed potatoes, dessert and Cabernet or $27 and a great value. Marla was great at servicing the table and the bartender Kevin was very attentive. Looking forward to going back

Amazing stay! Hotel was beautiful. Staff we super. We ate at the rooftop bar and had breakfast in the restaurant both were great. We will be back

The Wyvern is a very clean, well decorated and comfortable hotel. Our room was spacious with a king bed and a large chaise. The bathroom was also large with a tub and separate shower. We enjoyed cocktails on the roof top 360 lounge and also a good breakfast there in the morning. We look forward to staying there on future visits to Punta Gorda.

The Wyvern Hotel was very modern and clean. The room was huge with a nice lounging sofa in the room, and is very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is large with a beautiful shower and a separate jacuzzi tub. The rooftop bar was great-what a view! The only negative thing that I have to mention is that the air conditioning in the room smells very musty which was very disturbing. They need to either change the filters or there may be mold growing. This definitely needs to be addressed. Every time the air conditioner shut off and came back on you got that strong musty smell. Would I stay there again? Absolutely! I hope the a/c is addressed before I do!

Lack of amenities
They removed the swimming pool and the gym. It's Florida, who ever thought removing a swimming pool in Florida was a sound decision?

The hotel was wonderful! Room very clean, food and drinks delish! Staff very friendly! Loved our lunch on the hotel’s rooftop restaurant! The prime rib dinner for $35 inside the dining room or bar was delicious! The hotel even had chairs outside where we could sit and watch the fireworks! Only negative thing was an automatic tip charge even with only two people eating! I could see it automatically charged for a group eating but not for only two people!!! I would highly recommend staying there!
