The island is very boring, and the cost is very high. A 320ml bottle of Coke costs 15 ma, a plate of spaghetti that is not enough for you costs 40 ma. There is a language barrier. I called the hotel front desk and they said they don't speak Chinese. They didn't reply to my emails, and they didn't tell me where to take the bus in advance. The hotel's pick-up information said it costs 78 ma per person, but the actual charge is 82 ma per person.

Although the journey to Mermaid Island is quite torturous, with a 2-hour bus ride (the bus is very spacious and comfortable to sit in) and a 40-minute boat ride, you must check the round-trip departure time in advance before planning your subsequent itinerary. We didn’t check carefully when we booked the room, and we couldn’t catch up with the tickets we bought on the same day. However, we decisively changed our itinerary and stayed on the island for one more day, which was worth it!
The scenery here is really amazing. We wanted to go to the sunset point to watch the sunset on the first day. The road along the beach was too difficult to walk on, and we had to pass through residential areas. We turned back halfway, but the sunset was also very beautiful. We therefore signed up for the sunset cruise for the next day, which was really worth doing and not expensive, about RM16 per person. The staff even took the initiative to take photos for us!
