Beautiful hotel, amazing staff, a paradise resort

So clean and beach front

Highly polished hotel with kind interested staff opposite a vast expanse of beach. Buildings are built around central pools and resort is bordered by a tropical garden which slopes down towards a vast expanse of beach. Seating and shade centres around the pools with overhead fans and the occasional butterfly drifts across ambient mood. Buffet food is served in restaurants for breakfast and dinner and staff prepare divided items at their suggestion which is delightful. I’m a vegetarian and the chef quietly roasted for me a range of vegetables. Level of interest in guests here is outstanding and the staff really do make the resort. Coming onto a spotless beach I would swim along the coast towards the underground river. On the other side of a spar of rocks is a beach out of Robinson Crusoe with thick jungle and fronds metres from the water. You can also walk into Sabang along the coast and I personally made it a point to sit in normal Filipino restaurants near the port with a coke and watch the bustle on the pier. You can negotiate your own boats here for snorkelling or trips to the mangroves or as previously mentioned the Underground river. I used the Boom laundry shop many times and had excellent Filipino food at Naela's lechon manok and liempo house. I noted some guests rarely left the hotel but I enjoyed walking ‘into town’ It’s an odd thing to add but housekeeping was excellent and I learnt so much chatting to staff and thank-you Yna Puno and Jean Ivan who supported our stay. The hotel will pick you up from the airport and return you to Puerto Princesa but you might not want to leave.

There were some great things about this hotel. What we liked best: - The pool was amazing. It’s enormous and never crowded. From the pool you can see the mountains in one direction and the beach in the other - Loved the ability to walk right out of my room and be at the pool. There was really comfortable furniture on the patio as well - Really liked the swim up pool bar. However, it should be accessible if you are not in the pool as well. Currently it is not - The tour of the underground river is great and the hotel makes the arrangements for you. - The Manager in the restaurant went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our time at the hotel The things we didn’t like: - the mattress was too firm - The water in the shower never seemed to get hot no matter how long we let it run - The hotel is listed as Puerto Princesa, but it’s really an hour and 45 minutes from the airport. I originally booked it because it’s listed as Puerto Princesa - The prices are high - $20 for a small bottle of sunblock for example - the beach - loose dogs running all over and some sort of biting bug or insect they tell you about at check in (I think it was sand fleas). Summary of our stay in Palawan (June 24-27, 2024). It was a great decision to stay @ Four Points by Sheraton Palawan, Puerto Princesa - about 1 1/2 hour north of Puerto Princesa airport (away from the city’s traffic and crowd). The resort is located in Sabang, Cabayugan, Palawan. It is about 20 minute boat ride to the Underground River. The luxurious accommodations, updated facilities, and breathtaking views are impressive. Ugong Rock Adventures that include cave exploration and zip line is also a few minute ride from the resort. The climb thru the cave to the zip line platform was a workout, but the Superman zip line was a blast! Kudos to the entire staff and tour guides for their professionalism and friendliness!!!
