My favourite place to stay in PG! We love the pool and the breakfast, and the rooms are sparkling clean.

I really wanted to like this hotel, and I really tried hard to stay here after many rude conversations on the phone trying to book as a government employee but it’s clear that I should have just stopped trying. To start I will say that the two front desk girls (one at check in and one at check out) were very soft spoken and nice enough. The lobby was very fancy for Prince George so we were hopeful that our little family trip overnight would be great. The location is great for what we needed, and the room was spacious enough for what we needed. Now for the bad... Upon walking in shortly before 5pm there was a line up to the door to check in, there was events going on in town and sports tournaments, so I am mind boggled that there wasn’t better planning on the hotels end to have more staff to help check in times. After checking in we went up to our room and the whole floor (4th) smelt of covered up pet urine. We continued into our room and my husband who can barely smell garlic cooking, immediately said the room smelt of strong cat pee and cat litter. We did not ask for a pet friendly room, so I called down and asked if we were put in a pet friendly room and explained why I was asking. The agent said all rooms in the hotel are pet friendly… well had I known that I wouldn’t have booked there. We were not informed of that at any point prior to the phone call which is totally irresponsible of the hotel. We started to unpack our luggage and when I went into the room, I lifted the fitted sheets to check for bed bugs and while I didn’t find any, there was NO bed bug cover, just a thin mattress pad that didn’t even cover the top of the mattress. There was tape and balloons, or something stuck all over the ceiling throughout the room. The bathroom door didn’t have a lock on it, there was no fan in the washroom, which is not only annoying for the obvious reason but also makes me wonder how much mold is in that bathroom from the shower. There was no antibacterial soap in the washroom, assuming all rooms are the same, means the whole hotel is walking around with loads of bathroom germs touching every surface. The remote in the bedroom was full of gunk, cutlery in the kitchen was dirty, and then my wits end to even take the time to make this review was when my young son pulled out someone’s bra from the pullout couch that he was meant to sleep in. NOT OKAY. That was just the room. We left and went out for dinner and came back to get some pool time before it closed. Well we walked in the pool (which was a mission on its own, no robes or slippers are provided so you have to walk through the entire lounging and lobby area in your bathing suit and have everyone stare at you) and the pool was PACKED FULL of people. The door(that has no lock so anyone can come in and use the pool) states there is a 30 person maximum but there was almost 30 people just in the hot tub. If I were to guess, I would say there was nearly 75 people in that pool area. People were walking ar
