If you are contemplating staying at this Inn please make sure the lift is working! I had to walk up 8 flights of steps to the bedrooms and it has ruined my knee. I will now have to have a replacement! All the bedrooms are very dark with no shelving to put your belongings on. Not a good place to stay!!!!

Stayed here with the family as an alternative to staying in Weymouth for the Dorset Seafood Festival. Once you get over the feeling that King Charles' Poundbury town concept feels a bit like Disneyworld in the Dorset countryside, this is a really enjoyable hotel. Large bar and restaurant with high ceilings and woodwork everywhere - lovely outdoor seating in the summer looking out over the Square. Smallish, intimate rooms high up on the top three floors. Breakfast excellent. Service great.

i only ate in the restaurant with friends - in the past I have Tuna Nicoise - very good and included fresh Tuna. Last time I ordered its become a tin of ( IRISH - Great) Tuna in mayo with lettuce - what a down grade - sad to say a very poor imitation of what was very nice. What a ripoff

Booked two rooms for my husband and I and our grandaughters. Rooms were lovely, clean and well-furnished. Would have been nice to have had some products, bath gel, shampoo and conditioner, but we used the liquid hand soap. Food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was good with a decent choice. All in all a successful stay. We would return.

If Poundbury is your destination the location is perfect. The room was comfortable, sadly with a maintenance issue, good size nice view and a mattress which prevents bed bugs which is very reassuring. We ate both breakfast and dinner her with both being very nice. Although the dinner menu could be a little more exciting? The cocktail list was fun. The breakfast menu was a lovely mix of hot and cold just the thing to set you up for a busy day. There is a choice of two areas to eat quite and lively so pick which one is right for you. The one defect was a leak in the shower, which wasn't new so I've reduced what should be a five star review. But I'd certainly go back.

Great food food and or server Freddy provided excellent service really made the afternoon. Good drink and speedy staff. Would recommend the fish and chip knotty was very tasty and so was the tartar sauce I staff all very polite and speedy would recommend highly. Thank you Freddy!

Spent a evening with family for dinner. The Tanglefoot was great along with all the food, cooked very well. The service from Catherine was very good, polite and discreetly attentive. All the staff were pleasent and happy. A good evening. 👍

Having stayed here I am reluctant to be so effusive about how great it is because it will become too popular, which would make it not so easy to return. The room was fantastic and the bed was the most comfortable super king I have ever slept in. The room looked Victorian but had all the mod cons like a simple low level light when you went into the bathroom in the night. USB ports in the plugs. Everything you would want in a 5 star hotel was thought of here. Coffee and tea facilities were top notch and I even loved the old school door key. The staff were lovely and Mariana who served our breakfast was brilliant with great customer service skills. Our included breakfast was served in a gorgeous high ceiling dining room and the choice for breakfast was extensive and well cooked. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend staying here and exploring Poundbury and Dorchester. We will be back soon.

A warm and friendly hotel with a nice lofty ground floor restaurant and bar. I was breaking the journey from Sussex to Devon with an overnight stay. The room was spacious and very comfortable. They had thought of everything. A good night’s sleep followed by a friendly welcome for a tasty breakfast. I will definitely be going back for a longer visit.
