What can I say except Faaaaantastic !!! The wonderful front desk staff like Yvonne and Nicolette. There just so welcoming and accomodating. They will make You naturally feel at home. And the gentleman who is on in the evening and night is fun and bubbly and if you need any advice about the hotel or Poughkeepsie he’s your man. Rooms are clean and fresh and have all you need and are very spacious. In the evening they have fire pits that you can sit round outside in small or large groups. It has ample parking and free breakfast. If you want a bite to eat at night you can walk to the Red Robin or get food to cook in the room from the CVS near by or even alcohol. The hotel has a great gym and even a super heated indoor pool. It also has washing machine facilities. It’s just a home from Home with lovely friendly Warm staff. I Absolutely Love it here. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ The manager is Hans and he is very nice and has put together a great team That have been at the hotel For years. And not forgetting Kerry, she is front office and also very helpfull and super efficient and again will fix any problems or requests you have. Overall I would Only recommend this hotel if ever in Poughkeepsie. It’s not directly in the town but hey I think only 1 hotel is there and that’s the Doubletree and most other hotels are on the main road between Poughkeepsie and Fishkill. Can’t wait to be back in March, April and November 2026….

As I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I enjoy trying out different hotels across Hilton's portfolio when I visit a particular area. Despite the Uber ride to/from the train station, I decided to stay at this Homewood Suites since it appeared to be near many places to eat. I checked in online the day before arrival and chose my suite via the Hilton app. Although I had to stop at the front desk to obtain my complimentary spring water, my time at the front desk was minimal and I was soon on my way to my room. Staff was friendly. My suite was definitely ample for my belongings. No problems with WiFi, TV, nor climate control. Bathroom had plenty of counter space and no issues with hot water. Sleep was as good as it can be, and breakfast was decent. Plenty of fast food type places within the same complex and thus a short walk. Overall, I would recommend this property.

I have stayed at the Homewood in Poughkeepsie several times over the past few years, and while the location is fantastic, the property itself has unfortunately declined. What used to feel fresh and welcoming now feels dated and in need of attention. The carpets in both the rooms and hallways are noticeably dank and dirty, the mattresses are springy and past their prime, and the showers drip. The air conditioning is confusing, sometimes managed at the unit, other times on the wall thermostat, and never consistent. Guests leave take out trash in the hallways, pails are too small for pizza boxes, and no one comes around to tidy. Even the exterior could use care - rugs at the entrance and the sidewalks are unkempt with worn furniture at the entrance, giving such a poor first impression. Breakfast has also slipped. It used to feel more homemade and fresher, but now options seem lower quality and uninspired - no more smell of fresh baked muffins! It is disappointing because this hotel has so much potential, sitting in an amazing location (set back from highway, with access to good quick food options like Starbucks, Bonsai, Acai Bowls etc.) that should make it a standout. With some investment in cleanliness, updates and better food quality, this could once again be a top choice. But right now, if feels like a missed opportunity.
