Classic old timey ambiance, friendly staff, comfy beds and delicious breakfast included. A great location and I we look forward to coming back again in the future.

Had a very poor customer service experience and the next morning the restaurant was to buzy to take us and asked to take a seat from a very stressed out member of staff to which we decided not to wait as though if there are that buzy and can’t take us then the wait to get food would be even longer manager was to ring me on request from reception on Sunday still waiting

We were keen to check out the New Adelphi and we were keen to have a drink whilst taking a look around. Unfortunately our experience on both our visits was very underwhelming. On our first visit we were curtly told that they were expecting a golfing party and we couldn’t stay even though at the time there were very few customers in the hotel. The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming. Still we decided to give it another try and again was met with hesitation. The receptionist said she had to check with the bar to see if we could come in. When we looked in the bar to check it was far from busy. If this is how locals are going to be treated then good luck to them. They may have to rely on local busines in the quieter winter months but for our group we certainly won’t be returning.

So I understand that every newly renovated hotel will have some teething problems, but those managing the Adelphi really need to look at the rooms and consider the amenities before charging such high prices. I waited some time for my room which wasn't ready when I arrived and the lovely receptionist gave me an upgraded room in recognition of the long wait. Although the room was large and had a separate settee and coffee table, other issues with the room were aggravating - no mirror in the bedroom to sit and dry / style hair or get ready, no bin in the main room, a Nespresso coffee machine in a dark wardrobe ( it was plugged in behind the furniture meaning it couldn't be moved..) which required the use of torch to see the buttons to operate it. Whilst the bathroom was stylish and the stand alone Victorian inspired basin was lovely, if there is nowhere to put your toiletries or toothbrush, there is no option but to put everything on the floor. There wasn't even a toilet roll holder - everything including tissues is on the cistern behind you. Had a second person been with me, it would have been frustrating to leave everything on the floor and hanging space in the wardrobe would not have been insufficient for two people. The in-room safe was not operational as the hotel had yet to receive the activation keys. And there is no car park at this hotel meaning you need to find off street parking where you can leave a car overnight - in many parking spots on the seafront, you aren't permitted to stop all night. This isn't clear on the hotels website. All three windows in my room (211) looked out onto the back of other buildings. Staff were generally warm and friendly - one receptionist bucked that trend by being quite unhelpful when I arrived and asked for the best place to park and then needed to have my key re-programmed because it wouldn't let me into my room. I didn't have my second key card with me and she quite abruptly told me there was a £5 charge if I had lost it. The dining room is lovely and staff helpful. I'm not quite sure what the purpose was of bringing all guests a cake stand with shot glasses filled with yoghurt and a second one with fruit, cut up so small to get it it into a small glass, and pastries I did not want and quite frankly, were not of good quality. This is wasteful -why not give the guest what they actually want ? I had a cooked breakfast on all three mornings of my stay, and it was lovely. I had one evening meal in the Red Sail Restaurant.. I had mussels to start - all were small and many had broken shells. It seemed to me they had been pre-cooked and re-heated as they were tough or at the very least, over-cooked. A pan fried sea bass was overcooked and also unpleasant. This was removed from my bill. The green beans I ordered didn't arrive. The wine list is a hand-written sheet that the bar staff have so it's difficult to understand the selection or prices. My wine was watery and not great - the

Beautiful hotel, a few little issues at check in. But to be expected as only opened. Thanks to Michelle, it was all sorted in a jiffy. And she constantly checked in with us to make sure we were good. Great honest lady. The staff in the bar were also great. Lovely stay was had and will be back.

The hotel is only open; however, given the price I paid (£350 one night B&B), the level of expected service fell well below the price point: - Firstly, our bedroom was very small; it basically had a double bed (not queen or king, a double). There was very little space other than the bed in the room. For the price of the room, I expected much more! - The room is nicely decorated. And the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was perfect. - Secondly, there is no viable parking nearby, so beware, you have to park on the street or a little far away in a public car park. Again, for this price, I expected parking. - Finally, the breakfast was a bit of a disaster; the team are new and trying to get the service sorted, but they really need some help to prioritise service. Some guests just left midway through as they were waiting too long. We ordered an Irish breakfast, some fruit, and smoked salmon. The fry was incredibly greasy; everything was covered in oil. The smoked salmon and eggs were fine but missed some wedges of lemon. The orange juice was from concentrate. Overall, I will not be inclined to return or recommend the hotel. Given the price point, the service and space in the room fall well below our expectations.

The hotel is beautifully presented, and the staff are exceptionally welcoming and attentive. Book a king-size room if you prefer a bit more space as double room felt small. As the establishment has only recently opened, a few initial operational challenges were noted, which is understandable given that it is not yet fully staffed and some essential items are still being finalised. Nonetheless, the overall experience was highly positive, and a stay here is strongly recommended.
