The Doubletree 4-star hotel was truly fantastic.
I am happy and grateful to the company for booking me at a fantastic hotel.
Next time I will go with my girlfriend.

Right on the river and there is a city park between the motel and the river. Room was spacious enough for our needs. Enough towels, firm bed, quiet room and plenty of parking because they have a convention center next door. Comment. We paid extra for a room viewing the water to watch the ships go by. Remember there is a city park right in front with parking and you can go there to enjoy the boats going by and the riverfront. You can save some money by not asking for a water view. Also, the motel is within a couple of miles of the lighthouse and light ship there in Port Huron.

WE booked this hotel as a birthday getaway. The description sold us when it was listed as waterfront. When we arrived we were told our room would face a parking lot on the opposite side of the waterfront. The majority of the rooms went to teenage girls competing in a cheer competition. I doubt the girls were Hilton honors members OR cared about the views. We are senior citizens, loyal Honors members, plus we didn't get our room preference either. On our second day we stopped a maid and requested new towels. She assured us we would get a full room clean up. We received nothing. Lastly and very concerning was the last request. Our room lock was broke and we let the front desk know, requesting maintenance arrive in the afternoon to fix it. It never was done! Since there is a safe in our room we were sure safety is a concern here. This morning as we were having coffee on our deck (overlooking a parking lot) at 6:30 contractors arrived and started cutting concrete with a saw. We couldn't believe it. Our car was parked nearby and that was near the closest door for us to carry our luggage out. We were hit in the legs by concrete shards!!!!! I let the man at the desk know about all of this. After staying at several Hilton properties this week and then this experience we are reconsidering our loyalty to this brand. We didn't even get points for all these stays. This property was most expensive and had the least satisfaction. The rooms are small with very few outlets. Comfort is greatly lacking.

We booked a room to get away for the weekend Friday, July 11 to Sunday , July 13. When we first arrived there was a wedding party going on, very very loud but that’s understandable. We was trying to sit in the lobby for a bit but that was impossible with the loudness. We decided to go to Freighters to eat, we was greeted and seated in a very timely manner. But seated was it, we sat there 22 minutes before finally walking out. We ordered door dash, ate and walked to the pool. Soooo many kids in there and absolutely doing as they pleased. That night kids ran the hallways screaming and playing late into the night. I think there was even a firecracker sat off. The next morning we went into Port Huron for a bit and came back to our room still dirty, no clean towels or toilet paper.. We decided to pack up and call it a trip, we lost $300 for leaving a day early but it’s ok. Maybe we picked a bad time to go or something, reviews seem good but our experience was not.

The doubletree in Port Huron is a welcoming place in a great location. Having an attached restaurant is very convenient. Our room was on the third floor with a water view as well as a view of the Blue Water Bridge. Truck traffic on the bridge was continuous but we did not hear it inside the room. The room was comfortable and clean. Staff at the hotel were warm and friendly, informative and helpful. Warm cookies great guests upon arrival. I would stay at this hotel again

Based on tips from other reviewers we requested a view facing the lake and were able to get a balcony room with that view. We relaxed on the balcony enjoying the view and were able to see plenty of sailboats and a couple large ships enter the harbor. The US/Canadian bridge is beautiful at night, and impressive in the daytime. Our stay was one night, summer 2024, just getting around to writing a review now. I chose the hotel based off of other Trip Advisor reviews and would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Port Huron. Our room was clean and comfortable. A basic room; just what we needed for our one night stay as we were passing through the area. The highlight of our room was the view and balcony, with two chairs, so we could relax out there. Our stay was definitely enhanced by having this view. The staff was very friendly, the lobby is inviting, and there's a very nice gift shop.

We’ve stayed here several times in the past and this was unfortunately our least favorite stay. Of course, you cannot beat this hotel’s epic location and amazing views, and the service from the team was friendly. It’s a pretty fresh property although it’s definitely showing some wear and tear in some places. since it reopened 12 years ago after becoming the Doubletree. The shower, hallways and guest room doors in particular look like they’ve seen 12 years of guests. Our biggest issue was noise. We were really unlucky with how loud our room 122 was. It seems like the walls are paper thin. Our first night we were awakened in the middle of the night by the next door neighbor having a loud phone call at 3 am. And the guests upstairs had little kids that made it sound like we were sleeping under Grand Central Station. And there was some issue with the AC unit where even when off it constantly cracked and groaned and sounded like it was alive. It was so weird. This is still really the best property in Port Huron but we just wish our stay had been more restful.

I’m writing this review on night three of our stay at 10:52 PM. The 3 AM loud talker room next next is now occupied by such a loud snorer that I can’t even begin to concentrate. Why, in 2025 should I be paying this much money for a hotel and be annoyed by someone snoring in the adjacent room? It’s ridiculous.

I havent been to this hotel for 6 yrs and was shocked to see the deterioration! Bathroom tiles cracked and grout very dirty. Carpets throughout hotel stained and worn. Screendoor to balcony ripped and off track. The elevators were dirty. Freighters( their restaurant on site), has overpriced mediocre menu that we avoided. This hotel is priced like a 4 or 5 star hotel because of great view but definitely should be a 2 or 3 star at best. Hilton should review this property!
