Booked on the day via their website and received 15% off. So I paid £109 for their last room which was a family room in the attic. Great room, bunk beds for the kids and a double in a separate space divided off by wall. Tvs in both sections so perfect for a bit of space. Good selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolate plus scrumptious shortbread biscuits. Crisp white cotton duvets, sheets and perfectly plump pillows. Fluffy white towels on bed for after your bath under the deluxe window. Perfect for stargazing on a clear night. Ate in the restaurant was a little dubious due to mixed reviews, what they did offer was well cooked and tasty food but I was looking forward to the chicken kebab but that was no longer on the printed menu although was showing online. Steak and Ale pie really good, daughter had fish and chips. Slept like a log. Room was cosy and warm. Not much noise from other guests. Woke up to a stunning view from my bed and headed downstairs to a fantastic choice of breakfasts. Pastries, fruit, yoghurts and cereals followed by a cooked breakfast if you were hungry enough. I had the mini breakfast and my daughter had scrambled eggs on toast. Again all hot and of good quality. Staff were all attentive and cheerful in a caring way rather than forced. If I'm ever up in Pooley Bridge inn would not hesitate to book again.

Have always enjoyed a meal or a drink at Pooley Bridge Inn, but what has happened recently?! Just been for a drink and bowl of fries ( excellent), sitting outside. Every single table had empty glasses and plates from previous customers. Inside there were just 2 people serving at the bar, with 5 staff standing around doing absolutely nothing ( it was empty inside as nice outside). Our fries arrived, I asked the staff who brought them if our table could be cleared of the 10 odd glasses on it. She took about 5 and left them on a wall and never came back. Food was being delivered, but nothing was being cleared. Get a grip Management!

Best care and attention ever!!
right from our arrival the staff were superb. My wife had recently been in hospital and we were not sure how she would be. We need not have worried, the staff, ALL staff could not have done more to look after her. Anything we required was seen to and our room was cleaned when it suited us, to fit in with rest periods that my wife needed.I have traveled worldwide but have never had service and care reaching such heights!! Absolutely wonderfull!!

Would not return
Room very hot and you could feel the springs in the bed. The Bathroom was decorated beautifully but the shower was only a hand held over the bath tap connection type with no hook to stand it on so you had to hold it and no shower curtain so water ended up everywhere. My husband is tall 6ft 4 and was too tall for the shower, and had to bend down to miss the ceiling. Limited room to place clothing so the floor ended up being our wardrobe. The room was not generous in size so we were jumping clothes piles. Breakfast was ok but croissants very dry. People very friendly.

Having booked a table previous evening I wish we’d read previous reviews and cancelled. Bar area not that busy and we were sat promptly. Waitress took our order. Garlic bread starter. Fish & chips and chicken burger with chips . Easy enough. Within 10 minutes our mains came and our starter . Waitress was bordering rude when we said we hadn’t had our starters . She just put the food on the table and walked off . Then our garlic bread came out which we refused. My chicken burger and chips were barely warm . The relish was congealed and looked disgusting. The manager came over and agreed the relish should not have been served with the food . She offered to take the starters off the bill. After cutting into the burger and the chicken being lukewarm we called the manager over , she offered to warm it up . WARM IT UP. Gross . I refused her offer and asked for that also to be knocked off the bill. My husband fish and chips was just passable. Though the fish has obviously been fried in old fat . Brown fish doesn’t look the best . All items were knocked off the end bill. Very disappointing. We would not recommend at all for food.
