We stayed 4 nights at the magnificent Chancellor's room that dates back to the time of Louis XIII, but with every modern amenity available. The spacious grounds are stunning, with the Eure river running by, a few horses grazing leisurely and fish playing in the water. We played tennis in the morning, swam in a lovely pool, and enjoyed a lavish candle-lit dinner and fine European breakfasts. Will definitely go back!

Don’t expect to be able to get any food if you haven’t pre booked it. We travelled from the uk and after a long journey wanted some food and a glass of fizz. Only to be told that wasn’t possible. But a local bar shut in one hour so we needed to be quick. For a place that cost over 330 pounds a night I’d expect a little bit more service. The grounds and the place are beautiful but being able to get basic food and drink has always been staple in France so was very disappointing we couldn’t get anything to eat
