Resort & Winery Bosco De Medici

It’s like an oasis within the hustle and bustle of Pompei. Beautiful place, well tended, lovely pool, gardens and restaurant. Breakfast included with our stay was exceptionally good. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Being woken up a crowing rooster and barking dogs somehow added to the experience. Located easy walk from train stations and main historic site.

Amazing breakfast! Room nice and clean. Staff at the hotel seemed nice.Walk about 20 minutes to the ruins. More a family resort than for young people. They said Pool was heated - it was not. It was too freezing to swim in. Restaurant has rave reviews but we didn't get service like this. They seemed uninterested in serving the solo tables. Unfortunately, most tours leave from Naples so not recommended for if you want a lift to ruins or a bus tour up Mt Vesuvius.

A group of 5 of us visited for a wine tasting and it was absolutely fantastic! Roberto showed us around the property with great enthusiasm and knowledge. He spoke in both English and Italian for our mixed group. After, Maddalena guides us through the wine tasting. She was also very knowledgable and delightful to be around. 10/10 would return and recommend the experience!

Emanuele, Christian, Maddalena, and Gueseppe made our trip to Bosco de Medici wonderful. They were so accommodating and explained all the wines and terroir. The food was delicious and authentic. Everything was so beautiful and idyllic. If you are planning a trip to Pompeii, I suggest coming to this winery as everything is just what you would expect, or need, from an Italian winery.

We spent 4 nights at the Bosco di Medici resort and it was a really lovely place to stay and one that I would definitely recommend. The rooms are very attractively decorated with pretty tiled floors and have their own inside and outside sitting areas and everything that you could need for a comfortable visit. What made the resort stand out though was the staff and the setting. All of the staff at the resort and the winery were so kind and helpful and definitely keen to ensure you enjoyed your time there, tne service was outstanding. We ate at the winery restaurant every night of our stay and the food, wine and service were excellent, we enjoyed the vegetables which are grown at Bosco di Medici itself and the pasta - they are obviously keen to promote the excellent local food. I would recommend booking one of the lunchtime tasting menus and wine tours, we did this as a last day treat. It was a great opportunity to sample several of their wines (I particularly enjoyed the rose) enjoy some great food - the ancient Pompeian menu was delicious, especially sitting underneath the grapevines, and also see a little more of the winery itself. Bosco di Medici feels quite tranquil, has beautiful gardens and is set apart from the bustle of the town of Pompei but it is only a 15 minute walk to the Pompeii site itself. We were able to go to Pompeii first thing every morning which made getting in much easier and for the first two hours the site was relatively quiet. Although we didn't do this I understand the resort can also organise a guided tour of Pompeii for guests. Our stay was a relaxing break as well as an excellent way to visit Pompeii, particularly if you want to go on more than one occasion.

Area surrounding the resort is such a contrast to the luxurious feeling within the resort. The area around the resort is rather run down. The resort could benefit from offering transport into the main piazza which had beautiful buildings and many good restaurants.
