Hotel Tourist Residency and Homeland Forest Villa

I only planned to stay here for a few nights, but ended up staying five nights. It's conveniently located only a 10 min walk from lakeside, nestled in the hills above the streets away from the noise and pollution. After staying in many hotels in lakeside area, it was so nice to wake up to the relaxing sounds of birds, insects and wildlife, rather than the sounds of traffic, dogs barking, people shouting ect. There's even some trails behind the hotel if you want to explore some of the local flora and fauna. I stayed in the deluxe room, which was very cosy, with good amenities, good air con and hot water 24/7. The mattress was superb and combined with the relaxing quiet nature of the surroundings, it meant I had a good night's sleep every night and i never needed to use earplugs to help me sleep, unlike most other hotels ive stayed in around lakeside. The owner and the staff were super friendly and helpful and we're always happy to help, offering me some good local travel advice and always making sure I was happy and taken care of. The garden and restaurant areas are a nice place to chill in the evening and grab some food and a cold beer and unwind from a busy day. Overall it was a pleasure to spend time here and i always looked forward to coming back to this place after a busy day to relax and get a good nights sleep. If you want the convenience of being located on lakeside, but don't want all the commotion and noise that goes with it, then I can definitely recommend this place.

One of the most beautiful places in Nepal. This property is located in lakeside Pokhara. Hotel Tourist Residency is surrounded by bamboo plant and trees. Staff are super good and polite. Owner is super easy and informative. Rooms are absolutely amazing with great lake and city view.. Great

What a warm reception upon arrival! The owner, Bimal, was very welcoming and gracious, and so proud to tour us thru his property (as he should be, it’s beautiful!). We received a cup of tea upon arrival, toured the grounds, and were given suggestions on where to wander to find fun restaurants for dinner. We also received a nice greeting from Bimal when we booked the room, and even his WhatsApp message was friendly and warm. We love it here!!

One of the most beautiful place in Nepal. Absolutely beautiful room and location. Staff are so polite and enthusiastic. Breakfast is delicious and they also offer dinner and lunch. Comfortable stay next to beautiful greenery and peaceful place.

Best place in pokhara. Wonderful people, amazing location, great view from room and as well as from garden, surrounded by beautiful bamboo plants and trees and breakfast was so so delicious and tgey organized camp fire and BBQ 🙏😊. WILL GONNA COME SOON

We opted to book HTR independently off of its great reviews. We arrived at night with a lot of backpacks and there was immediate service to help us carry them up the hill. The grounds were neat, clean with good lighting. We were shown 2 rooms; one garden view and the other city view but we needed a room with 2 single beds for our teenagers. They told us that the room had been booked but they would make other arrangements. We choose the city view along with the single double bed room and brought back to the office to talk price. We agreed on an inclusive price in USD including breakfast. It was not until after that things fell apart (literally). We settled into our room for a shower but after 30 minutes we had no towels and then the water was cold(told it was solar and they had no hot water but would turn on electric heater). The shower head was broken. The shower was full of grime on the tiles too. Our boys came down and said their tap had completely fell off. Furthermore, we had to wait for a lock for our room. I went to the boys room and the room floor was wet (they did a spot clean when they found out our needs) and the pillows were mouldy. We looked and our pillows too were full of mould spurs. We requested new pillows but only got one. The toilet didn’t flush in our room as the tap was turned off due to a leak. Our fridge didn’t work either. Breakfast was good and served in a beautiful garden area. The staff was very accommodating for breakfast. When we told the manager of our shower and pillow issue she seemed concerned and stated the staff didn’t tell her the shower head was broken. She was more worried about the lock then the health hazard of the pillows but seemed to want to take in the feedback. We had 18kgs of laundry to be washed at the rate of 380r per kilo with the average only being 150r per kg. When it was returned it was still damp with some smelling clean and done not. We asked that it be completely dry as it was to be packed and would only need to be washed again. They said they would put it in the dryer. We waited to pay our bill until it was back and it was returned while we were away. Again only partially dry and someone else’s panties came with our gear. We saw saw a room completely set up for guests complete with 2 bottles of water, flowers in the room and towels neatly set on the bed. We were never offered water nor this beautifully done up room. Seems if your on a review site treatment is different which was proven when a Kiwi couple were given the room we didn’t take and were asked to cancel their booking an exchange for cash rate. This is a hotel of the haves and have nots. The staff work hard but the management take no responsibility for anything; they knew shower was broken, didn’t check laundry second time, boys room was put together in a hurry under false pretences and had no care about the pillows (ABC has an excuse).
