We purchased a Hilton Grand Vacation Club VIP package thinking it would be of similar quality to our Marriott Vacation Club. In response to a pre-arrival email, we requested an ocean view & also informed them of my milestone birthday during our stay. Was told our request & my celebration were noted. Upon arrival we were very disappointed! Our view overlooked the roof of the activities building. The room is in need of a major renovation with water damage on the exterior. The furnishings are out dated and the rooms are musty. Fortunately the mattresses were fresh, comfortable & linens clean. There are noisy AC units in the bedrooms but no AC in the kitchen/living room. The pool is a wading pool, like a giant kiddie pool. If you like to swim or do deep water exercises you’re out of luck. Deepest part of the pool is 4 ft and that is only a small area. Most of the pool is only waist deep. There’s only 1 restaurant, a bar/grill at the pool with a limited menu. Parking is far from the rooms, plan on hauling your stuff. Luggage charts are only available if you call a bell person. Hilton failed to impress us. This was a promo package & they gave us their worst unit. So, we won’t be buying into their program.

We're members of Hilton Grand Vacations, formerly Diamond Resorts & have been enjoying our timeshare around the country & abroad for many years. Point at Poipu is beautiful, situated in a gorgeous area of Kauai. Staff is awesome, accomodations are fantastic. We give it a 5 star rating.

We recently stayed for a week at the Point at Poipu, traded in from Maui. We were in building nine (Had stayed in 7 previously) so had a view of the pool and ocean. We were left alone regarding upgrading our timeshare. The last time we were there the pool scene was serene, this time not so much. People have begun the towel gig to save the beach chair while they aren't there. Also some very rude patrons. On the weekends the pool was full of kiddos so was kind of hectic and chaotic. The bar had a small menu but everything you need when you don’t want to go out. The bartender was welcoming and gave us some good tips. We walked the beach walk almost daily and saw the turtles floating in front of our room morning and night. Kauai was relaxing. The complex is a bit outdated and it’s a long walk to some buildings but the positives certainly outweigh the negatives. The are doing a remodel from what we could tell. We always found a parking spot. The staff was polite and helpful. Would definitely come back for that amazing view!

The two bedroom suite was very spacious, clean and had an excellent layout, but like other reviews have stated, it was extremely dated. The aircon units are very old and I could not sleep well as the unit in my room rattled and sounded like an airplane taking off!! It was almost funny how they put these super loud aircon units literally right next to the pillow you are supposed to sleep on!! Hotel maintenance workers arrived promptly to address the issue but informed us that there was not much they could do about the noise. Next time I would definitely just spend more and stay at the Hyatt next door - much nicer property with several great restaurants and beautiful pools and buildings. I felt so happy when I left this Hilton to go have dinner at the Hyatt next door, and it was depressing to have to walk back after dinner to my noisy old room at this hotel.

The rooms are outdated and in need of a complete renovation. You will see other reviews and even management responses that renovations started in 2023 but they are FAR from complete. I do not know how they maintain a 4+ star review. We dealt with a mildew/ammonia smell by our third night which was absolutely foul and unbearable. My gut tells me management is aware of the issue but doing their best to mask it, not solve it. We requested a room change which was promptly accommodated. However the second room also had the same smell by the second night. The carpet was damp in both rooms and felt like an absolute bio hazard. Do not stay here until they have fully renovated this property. The location is good and the general premises are nice, however the near by Hyatt and Marriott are far superior. I’m shocked Hinton has branded this building and allowed the condition to go on this long. Do not stay here

We enjoyed the Point at Poipu. The rooms were dated but it was clean. The location is very convenient in Poipu. The check in staff was very friendly. Air conditioning only in bedrooms but not a problem as living room was still a comfortable temperature. We had an ocean view room, which was a glimpse of ocean between buildings. Not worth extra cost of ocean view. Would stay again if visiting Kauai again!

The point at Poipu is great. Lots of family’s vacationing there but wasn’t overwhelming at the pool. Fun watching the kids have fun at the pool. Pool was big and spacious. Bar/ restaurant at the pool area was convenient and good food. Rooms and condo was large and spacious. Lots of space in a two bedroom. Condo was a little dated.but clean and spacious.

First time for our family and me to visit this beautiful resort. Meditation pools and quiet ponds. Large pool with lava rocks edges in some areas, sand and palapas on one side, and loungers on the other side. Shack bar at the pool. And it has a jacuzzi and barbecue grills. Our family stayed in 3 2-bedroom units on the 4th floor with ocean views. Was hoping to stay in renovated units but these were not available. Place was clean and not bad. Just a little dated. Units have a washer and dryer. Resort personnel are professional, caring, helpful, and approachable. Excellent customer service by Alna and Erin at the front desk, Josephine and other working with her (wish I remembered her name) from housekeeping, and Nerio (hopefully I spelled his name correctly) taking care of our luggage. Resort is on the water. Waves are rough and ground is rocky so not good to swim at. You do see turtles winning and coming on shore. Resort is also close to Poipu Beach where you can snorkel, swim, boogie board, and surf at. I highly recommend this place.
