The White Sands Resort and Spa

Had an amazing couple of days! It was the perfect beach getaway! Once we parked we had no reason to leave. Everything was right there and easily walkable. We will definitely be returning!

We absolutely Love this place! Perfect location. Right on the beach. Short walk to Boardwalk attractions and restaurants. Short drive into town for everything else! The hotel is lovely, well kept. I prefer the Motel across the street with ocean front views. The restaurant on the Motel side is great. The pub on the hotel side is nice. Indoor and out door pools!

Worse place I ever stayed at. Hole in door seeing daylight coming through. Ants on the bathroom floor. The room was dingy and you could hear everything going on next door and on top of you. Paying $189 a night was a joke. Never would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was a waste of money!

My husband and I have been going to this property for many years. We always stay on the beach side of the property, always in the same room which has a large terrace overlooking the ocean. First, the good. The room is clean and although it could use some sprucing up it's certainly acceptable for what's basically a seaside motel. The staff is friendly and helpful. We love the proximity to Jenkinson's Boardwalk - close enough to walk to and enjoy when we feel like it but far enough away to be spared the noise and the lights. It's nice to have the fire pit in the evening. Now, the bad, keeping in mind that I can only speak of this one particular room. The bed is hard which I don't mind but my husband hates. While there were two bedside night tables only one had a table lamp on it. I suppose we could have asked for another but I had brought my book light so it wasn't that much of an issue. The lighting in general is miserable - good thing I never really want to put makeup on while I'm at the beach. There are very few receptacles for plugs, most that are there are very inconveniently located. The water pressure in the shower is pathetic. I always try to shower when I think most others won't be but even then it's only barely acceptable. Hard to get all the sand off. The rooms are expensive; I reserve mine during the black Friday sale - while still pricey it's worth it to me for the balcony. That all said the worst offense is that they advertise a private beach and it's really not a private beach. It's free to guests of the hotel but day badges are available for purchase by anyone. The beach can get very crowded although not as crowded as Jenkinson's Beach. I suppose that's because of the lack of a boardwalk. It was nicer years ago when it really was a private beach. It bothers me that it's advertised as being private when in reality it's not. I'm not sure that I'd stay at this property if I couldn't get the one room I love. I've yet to find another one that's oceanfront with as large a balcony.

Hands down the best Hotel/Motel we ever stayed. The rooms are spotless, roomy and have everything you need for an enjoyable beach vacation. The staff is wonderful, friendly and accommodating. We've been coming to Point Pleasant for many years, and always enjoy The White Sands.

We have been going to this “hotel” for years. Although it was not perfect, it was acceptable. And even with its imperfections we accepted it for what it was and didn’t complain (although we should have, especially the dirty sock, empty water bottles left under the bed from the previous guests, and the broken tub faucet). This weekend we had booked to go for my daughter’s birthday weekend. When the news started talking about the tropical storm Ophelia we called the hotel to reschedule the weekend. We were not looking for a refund, we simply wanted to change the dates of our trip so as to avoid being stuck there in a terrible tropical storm. “MARIA” the front desk person that answered the phone was extremely unprofessional and rude. She was very curt and made absolutely no attempt to assist. She then hung up on me!!!! Why someone like this is entrusted with being the business’s representation is beyond me. I will not be returning again.
