"This is one of the loveliest hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. It is quiet and ideal for those who want to be surrounded by peace and wildlife. The food is beautiful and the staff are friendly and make every moment feel special. Everyone was so kind but we would love to mention Luis, Michael, Andy, Gabriela and Martina who were patient and encouraging when we tried out our terrible Spanish on them! For us, the hotel offered the perfect balance of nature related activity and relaxation. We are already planning to return!"

"We really liked Mawamba lounge. It really gives us the “Pura Vide” It’s a special experience - when sleeping at night, we hear the current waves, when waking up in the morning, we hear the bird sounds. The room doesn’t have WiFi, but we actually didn’t mind (as we could really be relaxed during the stay). It is close to the town, and have a natural path walking to town."

"Fantastic Place in the middle of the jungle with a lush garden lots of wildlife and most importantly amazing food. Stayed at the clamping room with own pool and patio. Spacious clean and cozy with a big bathroom and powerful shower. The staff was extremely friendly and kind to us all special requests taken care in no time and with a smile. Come back guaranteed."

"The hotel is fine for a short stopover if you keep your expectations low. The gardens are quite nice and offer a peaceful setting, but there’s really no reason to stay more than a night. And you hear the motorway that is a drag… Room was basic and that is ok. But all very worn. The mattress was old and not very comfortable, with only basic sheet protection. Cleanliness was average overall. The restaurant served average food but charged high prices for it, which didn’t feel justified. Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming, though the woman at the entry gate on the street had a surprisingly poor attitude. It seemed to cater more to locals, which is fine, but worth noting if you’re looking for a more curated tourist experience. We stayed here as part of our jetlag recovery—it worked for that purpose, but if you have the energy, it’s better to head straight to Tortuguero. I wouldn’t return unless I had no other option."

"Serendipity Hotel, Tortuguero, Costa Rica In May of last year we visited a luxurious inclusive western-style resort within an hour drive from the Liberia airport. It was lovely with plenty of food and drink. However, we were over 3 hours away one way by car from the real beauties of rain forest and it’s abundant exotic inhabitants. It was very exhausting to say the least to spend most of your day on the road instead of enjoying the wonders of Costa Rica. Later that year we found out about Tortuguero, which looked like a true gem of the Rainforest life based on a little research we have done. Without a delay we immediately decided to explore the island. We found it to be be even better than few Google searches have revealed. The Tortuguero island is located a smooth and picturesque 2.5 hour drive from the San Jose airport and then 40 minutes by boat, which seemed more like a Disney jungle cruise. At the dock we were greeted by a friendly Serendipity Hotel representative, who was holding a sign with our names on it. The moment we set our foot on the island the hotel staff made us feel welcomed and at home! The Serendipity hotel itself was only a short 4 minute walk from the dock. And the location could not be more perfect: right in the middle of Tortuguero and only few hundred feet away from the National Rainforest park, ocean beach and a river with a large variety of restaurants. Friendly hotel staff was on site 24/7 always ready to help or provided the needed. For meals we had a choice of tasty traditional Costa Rican menu. And for breakfast we had an option of traditional American. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make vegetarian meals for me that I absolutely loved. The hotel’s clean modern rooms with super quiet AC units in each was a true luxury. What a change compared to a Marriott hotel in San Jose where I could not sleep due to a noisy AC. We were in the middle of the rainforest for 5 days! Canoeing, kayaking, walks in the virgin Rainforest, climbing a dormant volcano, night walks with a guide to explore the island’s nightlife and amazing sunsets…I took so many wonderful photos, that we keep going thru even now, several months after our trip. Having experienced such a paradise, I can say with a definite certainty there are no more all inclusive resorts for me…only Serendipity Hotel on Tortuguero! In conclusion, we will definitely go back to Tortuguero soon, as the place feels like home with amazing ecotourism opportunities and wonderful at home like comfort of the Serendipity hotel. "

"The Lodge was great, nice and private. There are no windows, but you are protected from mosquitos. There are guides included in the 2 night package, and we rally appreciated that two of the ones we encountered were locals that live close and not from other parts of the country. Hope they continue to use the locals, as this makes everything more authentic. Noel was a perfect guide, and he knew a lot about every little thing."

"I LOVED my stay at Pachira!! The rooms are SO COOL!!! The windows are screened with no glass so you sleep to the sound of the jungle The river tours were amazing and we saw TONS of wildlife, both on the river and the hotel grounds. The food is super tasty with lots of options We had Ray and Julio as our tour guides and they were so fun and informative!!!! I will 100% visit again"
