La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Plattsburgh

This hotel is in dire need of proper management, or just someone who cares. I sent an email and did not receive a response nor apology. I live near Orlando, Florida. The bulk of our hotels require a housekeeping manager to review the cleaning that had been done prior to a new guest checking in. Obviously, this hotel does not have this, because any individual with a sense of pride would NEVER have allowed a guest to get the room in the state I'd received it. You see, I arrived in the evening, so there had been ample time for my room to have been prepared. Upon entering my room, I could see dark hairs against the floors and on the bathroom floor. Possibly an animal friendly room and a maid that had been in a hurry, so I gave it a pass. I went to use the restroom. There was ONE SQUARE of toilet paper on the roll. Not enough to fold to show that the room had been properly turned over. This is something my teenager would do. The square was half glued to the cardboard, so I ultimately had half a square of paper hanging on the roll. Honestly, unbelievable. I had a second roll in the bathroom. It was not in the packaging, so I am supposing someone prior to me started into the second roll without changing the first and left it on the back of the toilet. There was about half a roll available in total. At this point, I found myself irritated. It's late in the evening, I had spent the bulk of the day traveling, I just want to rest. I opened the sheets on the bed, and there were two stains on the sheets. (Possibly food like someone had eaten alongside the nightstand; and the other, I don't really wish to guess) The sheets had multiple dark hairs from top to bottom. I don't believe housekeeping bothered to change my sheets. I went to the front desk and asked for a new set of sheets. The person did not ask questions, and promptly provided a new set. These appeared folded and [hopefully] laundered. I changed the sheets myself, leaving the old in a pile. The following morning I had breakfast, which was fine, and went to get two beach towels from the front desk. I was told they only had one, as the rest were in the wash. I am still surprised the hotel had only one, and did not offer regular towels in it's place. I returned to the room and saw the towel provided was very small, and dirty looking. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone traveling unless they were desperate for an animal friendly overnight stop. Did I mention the elevator broke? Things happen, but as luck would have it, the elevator broke as I was leaving to check out of the hotel the next day. So I see two people hanging up a sign informing that the elevator isn't functional, and they hang the sign in front of me while I'm at the elevator, and continue on up the stairs to hang their remaining signs. Two employees. TWO. It took two employees to hang one sign on each floor. Neither offered to assist me with my luggage, as I had the misfortune of getting them down the stairs by myself. Was a horrible place to stay dirty , their breakfast was horrible elevators didn’t work got stuck In them had to use the stairs after the first day. Only gave us one wash cloth a half roll of toilet paper had but our own. The refrigerator in room had frozen ice inside ( should have been checked when prior guests left,) out of 4 lights over bathroom sink only one worked , no handle on one of the night stands. On last day we left we killed two cockroaches in our room . And the fire department was there one night . The place was under construction which we didn’t know till we got there was not mentioned on web site. Homeless people going through the garbage dumpsters every day. Neeess to say when I complained the front desk just said oh never offered us a discount. Would never recommend this place. It was just disgusting. It used to be a very nice place .

We were up for a family memorial and because it was also graduation weekend, the rates were doubled and tripled. The a/c unit cover was broken, the coffee machine cover was broken, the soap was smaller than a credit card and was substandard. The tub was extremely slippery to the point of almost being dangerous, The note on mirror telling us not to steal the towels was not necessary as I could exfoliate my skin with them. Sorry, I don't usually leave bad reviews bit this was really terrible.
