"Basic accommodation but comfortable and affordable. Well placed for marine trips on the lagoon and open ocean. A wealth of local bars and restaurants, souvenir shops and grocery stores etc. Local bank with ATM. The site can provide paddle boards and a kayak along with bicycles. The new owners made us very welcome with personally provided local information along with a well written folder."

"This is the second place we’ve stayed in Placencia, and normally I don’t write reviews at all (I know, shame on me) but I had to when I saw the first review said this place ruined their vacation then proceeded to talk about a pool at the hotel and a safe in the room. I’m not sure where that person stayed but it wasn’t here. The Serenade has neither of these things! What they do have is hot water and air conditioning (the other place we stayed for the same price did not), extremely kind employees and beach access. It’s nothing fancy but we’d definitely stay here again! Oh, and they need to update their pictures of the outside. If you’re walking down the Placencia sidewalk looking for the place it is not yellow, look for a grayish building!"

"There is something for everyone at this resort with multiple top notch dining venues, range of facilities and lots of excursions. The resort is small enough that the service is personal and friendly. I especially loved the flowers in the birdbaths which were refreshed daily outside our cottage-just one example of the many details they attend to."

"We recently returned from a wonderful 2 week stay at ALux k House ( # 4). This upstairs 1 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment was perfect. It was exceptionally clean when we arrived. It had a full kitchen with every appliance you could want. The bedroom has a full closet with a safe, - plenty of hangers, very comfortable mattress, bed side reading lamps which are a necessity for us. The bathroom had a great shower, always hot water and lots of shelf space for our toiletries. And the woven bath towels were amazing. I am going to order a set for my own bathroom . The owners also provided, extra tooth brushes, paste, razors, QTips, & cotton balls, as well as shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The living room has a large smart TV with PRIME streaming included. We were able to watch all our favorite news shows through UTUBE. The air conditioner and ceiling fans kept us cool. Our favorite “room” was the spacious deck right out side the living room. It was perfect for morning coffee ! There is a table where we played cards and had happy hour. There is a second seating area with a love seat, 2 chairs and a table. The fan was also a plus. We used the plunge pool to cool off even on the days we went to the beach. We also had the use of beach chairs and towels that were easy to carry the very short walk to the beach. There are plenty of palm trees to sit under for shade. We also had use of the washer and dryer which was a bonus since we had been traveling inland for a week and needed clean clothes ! The staff was great. There was always someone on site during the day. We asked for a cleaning service once during the stay but could have had more. There are outdoor motion sensors for lights which was greatly appreciated when walking back from dinners out. I would still recommend bringing a small flashlight. The ALux House location right off the ‘Sidewalk” was ideal. It is also very close the one main road so easy to get to the Tutti Frutti Gelato shop if we had a craving . There are many fun restaurants to try and 2 beach clubs open to,the public for use of larger swimming pools. We highly recommend ALux House for your stay in Placencia."

"I rented this room for my father when he came to visit me. The room had recently been updated. It looked great! Bright and clean with plenty of room. The location is fabulous! Walking distance to everything. They have on site parking which is hard to find here. The free passes to the beach club were a great perk. Craig and Risa took great care of my dad. Will definitely book this place again!"
