"We were travelling from Ikaria to England and needed an over night stay to catch our flight. I chose a hotel close to the ferry dock and reasonable distance to the airport. The Doryssa Therom seemed to meet all these criteria, but it was not cheap at £ 170. However but being described as "Superb" made us feel it would be a nice end to our holiday. The front of the hotel is quite impressive, and we were invited to enjoy a complimentary cherry juice, ( an acquired taste !}. However on checking in we were taken to a subterranean room. The hotel does not have a lift so we had to haul four suitcases down three sets of steps. The veranda for the room was four feet below the scrubby garden and was extremely claustrophobic . I know we were a one night only couple, but it just made us feel unloved and unwanted. When we went to use the shower in the morning we discovered that not only did the shower leak, but the two towels we had been left were not bath sheets but small towels not fit for purpose. I had to rescue our beach towels to get myself dry. I do hate to use this word but we found the Doryssa Therom pretentious. What a pity that the very helpful staff are let down by the sub standard, subterranean rooms. Not recommended."

"The hotel is run by a family that does everything to make you feel welcome. There is always someone present, and they are ready to answer questions or assist with anything else. Whenever we had something planned, we were asked afterwards how we experienced it, and we were always welcome to ask for advice; the staff is therefore very involved. The rooms are cleaned neatly every day, and you receive a fresh set of towels. The breakfast is simple, but all products are super fresh and tasty! Air conditioning and a mini-fridge are available in the room. We had a room with a sea view, which was truly beautiful. However, your balcony does face south. The swimming pool is also clean and equipped with all amenities, such as toilets and changing rooms. Everything is small-scale, which makes it very cozy. There is ample parking space right outside the door. The hotel is located in Ireon; if you rent a car, this is the perfect location because you are not in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The village is charming, and there are various restaurants and bars. Additionally, you are not far from all the sights due to its central location on the island. Tip: If you happen to stay here, be sure to visit restaurant Akrokioli just a few meters away!"

"When I arrived at the Samos room, I knew right away that this is a place I'd choose again without hesitation; everything has been meticulously thought out. We absolutely loved room number 25, and if all the rooms are like this, I'd say it's truly top-notch. Plus, having access to the beach of the other hotel nearby was fantastic. The breakfast in the morning was really, really good, especially considering the island's standards. You can be sure you'll have a very calm, beautiful, and peaceful day by the pool – we certainly did! 😀 A big thank you to Petroniava at the reception, who was lovely and attentive. Her excellent service, including sending us cold drinks and cake while our room was being prepared, was a very classy touch. Similarly, the cheerful smiles of the East Asian staff by the pool made us feel incredibly at home. We didn't use them, but for anyone interested, the hotel offers bicycle rental, and you can get to the city center very quickly by pedaling."

"Lovely hotel very quiet peaceful and relaxing rooms very clean but on small side but would recommend booking room with sea view as it is a beautiful view . The pool bar is nice snacks and drinks ok staff really nice the young man that worked there most days was brilliant worked so hard and also made great effort to make sure everything was ok . The pool is lovely beds are great view great never had a problem with getting a bed always plenty available any time of day , the only down side with pool is the steps are very slippery and no sign we did see a few people fall . This is one of the friendliest hotels we have stayed in from greeting you at reception to cleaners and bar staff ."
