La Casa Sul Blu Albergo Diffuso

Environment Location: Situated in beautiful villages/towns like Pisciotta, with stunning sea, mountain, and garden views. The place is in historic hill towns with great locations.

Absolutely the reluctant hotel! We were cyclists booked into this hotel and we were the first to arrive. Door was locked? No door bell or posted telephone number to contact reception. We waited about 20 minutes until a gentleman on the second floor came to a window and acknowledged that we wanted to check in. Since we were part of a cycling tour, we expected a normal check in. There was an issue of what was available at reservation time and what was available now. We volunteered to pay an extra 20€ so every one in group got the same quality of room. The 4 others in our group arrived about 30 minutes later and the too could not find a reception and waited about 30 minutes for someone to notice them. After dinner my wife and I went to our room and folded down the bed to find that the sheets appeared NOT TO HAVE BEEN CHANGED and there was blood on both sheets! Of course NO ONE was in reception. I found a business card and called the “male owner” and he finally had his mother come to our room with clean linen. Breakfast was very good, but the owner and I got into a “ conversation” the next morning over the bloody linen, extra room costs and things in general. I would never stay here again!!!

Difficult to find.. we stayed for two nights as part of a self guided cycle tour.. we arrived in the piazza and saw several signs pointing to La Casa Blu, but they were down stairs, and we had heavy e-bikes, I called the hotel, and yes down we had to go, around 30 steps down.. it is in an old building, I think the owner said 1700 something, my Italian was so so, and her English the same. She showed us down through a dusty and dark, uneven stairs to a room called ‘Notte il museo’ or similar, the actual room was not too bad, small, view of an overgrown garden, but darkish and I felt ‘grit’ under my feet. The stairwell is full of ancient bits and pieces which some people might find interesting, quaint, but all I could see were the years of dust accumulated everywhere, so much stuff impossible to clean, same with breakfast room, and the place smelt musty and dusty… I think the room we were given was the budget price for the cycle company, and there were rooms above us which must have had nice views to the sea and no doubt a lot bigger, there are other buildings where they have rooms and probably these are better, just not a good experience for us.
