What a lovely place! We were made very welcome, and enjoyed the very comfortable bedrooms where everything had been thought of. The garden was beautiful too. The evening menu was so good it took us ages to choose what we'd like, and we were not disappointed. The breakfast next morning was every bit as good, with lots of choice and everything locally sourced and/or home-made. The coffee too was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend the Brace of Pheasants for a visit or for a stay; we hope to visit again later this summer.

We stayed for one night in this delightful pub. Everything was exemplary - supper was delicious and there was a good range of local foods on the menu. Our rooms were immaculately clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was wonderfully fresh and served with a smile. Thoroughly recommend this venue for a relaxing break.

The Brace of Pheasants was recommended to us for my wife’s birthday celebration. We booked a one night dinner, bed and breakfast. Situated in beautiful Dorset countryside, this pub offered everything we expected, from excellent draught beer and great wines, to superbly cooked and presented food. Our room was very comfortable with a great walk in shower en suite. Together with our friends we had such an enjoyable stay, made more so by the friendly staff and Matt, the owner. A place to return to, definitely!

This is the sort of quintessential British pub in a delightful but remote country village where in films strangers walk in and all the locals turn round and stare menacingly. Actually nothing could be further from the truth. Everyone was absolutely charming including the South African landlord. Our room was quirky to say the least but very clean and had everything we needed and dinner in the restaurant was sublime. Unsurprisingly it was completely full on a Saturday evening so a reservation is essential. A hearty breakfast in the morning set us up for the day ahead and rounded off probably the best stay we have ever enjoyed in an English pub. Ideal for visiting the Jurassic coast or venturing north to Sherborne.

This a delightful if very remote pub with a superb restaurant in a quintessential little Dorset village. Highly recommended for foreign tourists who want a genuine English pub experience.

Our visit to The Brace of Pheasants was nothing short of delightful. Upon arrival, we were greeted with exceptional warmth, and the cozy ambiance, complete with log fires and exposed beams, set the perfect tone for our relaxing getaway. Our accommodation in the Garden Wing featured a well-appointed bedroom with a king-size bed and an impressively large bath—a true highlight! Despite the inn's remote location, the restaurant was fully booked on Saturday night, a testament to its popularity. The diverse menu offerings and teriffic atmosphere only added to the charm. We highly recommend the Brace of Pheasants and look forward to our return.

We heard of this establishment by word of mouth and decided to give it a try. The pub is set in a beautiful rural area with a decent sized car park. The venue has a cosy feel and appeared to attract many local patrons. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table promptly. There’s a splendid range offered on the menu and everybody in our party enjoyed all three of their courses. This place is definitely worth the effort to travel to.

What a treasure in the village of Plush Friendly cosy pub with beautiful accommodation. The food was delicious, can particularly recommend the Sunday roasts. Matt the owner and his staff all very welcoming . And the walks around the valley are well worth the steep climb at the beginning of your journey , the views are stunning .Nature at it best . Hoping for better weather when we return !! Thanks again Matt !
