"The hotel itself is a bit dated but well maintained and clean. The service was good and breakfast was substantial. Pool seemed unused for years with black spots of algae but we were not really into swimming so its ok. The room size were nice and big but sound proof is not too good. We can hear the kids playing from the other room. Beds were good and comfy. Smells clean and soft. Location is good. Walking distance to everything you need."

"We stayed in the GABLES in the main building. (Room "Mariner") The room was very old-fashioned. What we didn't like was that we had to go across the hall to get to the bathroom. We wouldn't stay there again because there are plenty of nicer places to stay in Picton."
Escape to Picton Boutique Hotel
"We checked into the 'modern' suite for a night. It was extremely spacious, the bath heavenly, and location great. In saying that, there was a lot that let down the entire experience 'Modern' was a far cry from the decor; think kitsch or gaudy, which we thought was somewhat comical. The room is also located directly above the restaurant, so any music from downstairs comes straight upstairs (so expect to hear it till 11pm at night). Similarly, given there's no air conditioning, your only option is to open the windows, which really immerses you into the music from downstairs. We also decided to dine in the restaurant that evening to help support local. Little did we know this would mean waiting 1 hour for our meals, coupled with a 45 minute wait for some water, and eating some rather questionable 'fish of the day' dish that had some unique flavours that didn't quite pair well (hint: the fare at the Irish Bar is much better, where we dined a couple of nights prior). We also asked for a late check-out however this could not be arranged as an early guest was checking in (on a Sunday nonetheless). An hour after checking out, strangely the room was still bookable online, so the dishonestly was let down. We had high-hopes for this room (especially when you're paying $500+ for the evening), but I would suggest looking elsewhere. Not worth it!"

Bed was comfy the room was very quiet and room was more like an apartment Delicious breakfast was provided and we really enjoyed the heritage The pet sheep are lovely and being near native bush lots of lovely bird calls to listen to"
