Although one unpleasant incident occurred during my stay due to staff error, I still want to provide a relatively objective review.
The location is quite good, surrounded by the walls of the royal palace and temple, making it relatively quiet. The palace is a short walk away. However, it's a bit far from convenience stores and restaurants. There are some street vendors nearby, which is convenient if you enjoy local street food. The hotel is dated, with a very small elevator, and the room amenities are old and smelly. I regret buying breakfast; there wasn't much to eat, and the taste wasn't great. Unless you only like fried eggs.
I liked the upstairs restaurant; it was nice to sit outside for dinner and enjoy a beer while gazing at the night view.

The cleanliness is very poor (the hotel seems old), but the staff's service was very good, so I had a pleasant trip. Also, the swimming pool is large and the view is good, so it is good value for money.

This was our second stay at Le Botum. We were upgraded to a family room which was a lovely surprise as it was quite a bit larger and higher up than the original room we had booked - it also had a nice balcony with a great view of the Mekong. The rooftop pool and restaurant have stunning views of the Phnom Penh although the food in the restaurant is very average is is overpriced for what it is. The location of the hotel is very central.
