"Villa Antica Colonia has as its motto a Leonardo da Vinci quote that sums up the experience of a stay in these stunning suite apartments: “Details make for perfection and perfection is not a detail.” It was our second stay in this lovely villa with wonderful views of Lake Orta. Every detail of each charming apartment has been carefully studied and the suites, which include a kitchen and dining area, are furnished with high style. The two sisters, Monica and Valentina, who own and manage the villa extend a warm welcome and provide excellent service throughout. The apartments are spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable, with every need catered for by the best quality material. A wonderful breakfast is delivered in a basket outside your door each morning at a time of your choosing and can be enjoyed on the superb balconies which accompany each suite. Each of the seven suite apartments is unique, with different interiors and views of the lake, affording endless possibilities for multiple stays. Above all, do not miss a cocktail or glass of wine (served with appetizers) in the superb outdoor area with an unparalleled panoramic view of the lake. There is also a hydro spa and a new spa area (for an extra fee). This really is a very special place, where the sisters have achieved perfection, through their incredible attention to detail."

"I recently stayed here for a girls trip and we were treated so well. We had a room that had a double bed and a put up single for the three of us, a lovely balcony, good air conditioning (thankfully as it was incredibly hot during our stay). Even though the hotel is on the main road it was not noisy. There is a kitchenette, fridge and a huge shower in the bathroom. All simply furnished but clean and cared for. Downstairs there is a lovely bar and wine shop and deli. The team, despite our Italian being non-existent and their not speaking too much English we got by and were warmly treated. The owner gifted us a bottle of wine which was such a nice gesture and on the day we left they gave us bottles of water for our journey. Fab. The lake is a short walk away as is the ferry stop. Cool swims in that lake was one of the highlights. So beautiful. We had an amazing three days and hope to return."

"Absolutely loved this hotel from the moment we arrived. Such friendly staff, stunning setting on the lake, sparking clean water to swim in, the views from our room and gorgeous food. We had supper there on our first evening and were blown away by the meal (best this year by far). Breakfast is also fabulous. As a place to chill and relax, it is unbeatable. Nearby villages are also magical. This was a hotel experience at its best and we will be back."
