A group of 4 of us stayed in one of the lodges to the rear of the hotel. We found the lodge to be very clean, warm and comfortable. The log burning stove is a very welcome addition. The stove was all set up and ready to be lit. On arrival at the lodge we were delighted to find that a few essentials had been left for us. These included tea, coffee, milk, butter and bread. We availed of the cooked breakfast on three mornings and it was substantial and delicious. We also ate in the restaurant on four nights and found the food to be of a very high standard and well presented. We found the staff to be very friendly and professional. We would have no hesitation in recommending Saplinbrae Hotel to anyone.

Friendly professional staff. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Rooms are comfortable with quality bedding. The ensuite looked as though it had been recently refurbished with a walk in shower. The hotel was positioned well as a base to explore the north coast and was a few minutes walk from Pitfour Lake and Aden Country Park. All in all a lovely few days.

Second time to stay in the lodge. Clean, warm, comfortable and good value - log burner was excellent also.Meals in the hotel were superb. Nothing adverse to say - all positive. Scott provided us with a few fine days sport and chat. Looking forward to next year already - we’ll be back!

Everything about this hotel and lodges is excellent. We were staying in a room in the shooting lodge and it was so comfortable and clean. Lovely hot water and lovely thick fluffy towels, the best I’ve ever had! We did a two night stay, bed and breakfast, the breakfast and also the service are second to none, highly recommend a stay at Saplinbrae Hotel and Lodges, we will be back soon.

A wonderful haven. Saplinbrae is a real home from home with friendly staff. The kichen is wonderful and the location sublime. I cannot recommend it highly enough, there is really no more to say. However, this stupid website is insisting I have 200 words - so there we go! Mission Accomplished!

We couldn't have asked for anything more. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Communication was always fantastic. Dinner to say the least was absolutely spectacular. Thankyou all so much for such a fabulous time The house - The Shooting Lodge suited us for our party of 8

Absolutely stunning. The location is absolutely wonderful and the accomodation is perfect. The breakfast is superb as everything. Saplinbrae has an absolute strategic position in the region. If I'll be in Scotland again I will be in Saplinbrae for sure. Thank you again

Well here’s a hidden gem. A warm welcome by Diane who showed us to our room which was modern and spacious with an amazing shower. Dinner did not disappoint, from locally sourced salmon and beef to the local beer called Torr. My wife and I both had the prawn and smoked salmon stack as well as the 10oz rib eye. All presented to perfection and cooked perfectly. Staff were superb and very attentive and friendly. The log fire in the restaurant was a great touch where we sat and relaxed after dinner. A great nights sleep in a very comfortable bed and wide awake after that fantastic shower. Breakfast was superb, Baked salmon with scrambled eggs for my wife and a simple bacon and eggs for me. Sets us up for the day ahead. Thank you so much for looking after us on our visit, oh and the wine list, brilliant.

We've stayed here a couple of times before, but it seemed much more like a 'business stay' hotel this time. We came down for dinner each evening at 7 p.m. and before we'd finished our meal the waitresses were setting the tables for the next day's breakfast! However, on a positive, the food was as excellent as on our previous stays. On our last morning I was woken at 7 a.m. by the noise of a vacuum cleaner. Not ideal. We've previously used this hotel at a 'stop off' for holidays in Scotland. This will no longer be the case. Too corporate and impersonal for us, but if your employer is paying for you on a work trip it would be fine...
