Hotel Villa Delle Rose ★★★★

📍 Via del Castellare, 21, Pescia

"We stayed only two nights at this exceptional hotel in Pescia. We arrived by train, and fortunately the hotel was not far from the station. Everything was excellent: the check-in, our first-floor room, and the breakfast! We also visited the exquisite restaurant for our dinner - we were served a very tasty vegan dish, pasta with aubergine and beans, after which we had a superb lemon sorbet. The staff at the reception and in the restaurant were very kind and helpful. We also have to mention that the decoration and unique objects in the entrance hall and in the corridors were truly amazing! We spotted several cute figures of Pinocchio in the hotel and learned from a brochure about the connection of Pescia to his writer, Carlo Collodi! His real name was Carlo Lorenzini; he was born in Firenze, but spent his childhood with his maternal grandmother in Collodi, a village near Pescia and our hotel! The idea of writing about Pinocchio was conceived there, and that is why he took his pen name Carlo Collodi. We sincerely hope that we can come back to stay longer in this hotel and explore Pescia!"

Villaggio Albergo San Lorenzo e Santa Caterina ★★★

📍 Via S. Lorenzo, 15, Pescia

"We stayed here as part of a tour package. There no doubt the the hotel oozes uniqueness. A converted paper mill. The hotel sits on a small river and is accessed via a single lane bridge. Our tour coach had to reverse over the bridge in darkness and a rainstorm as the corner is to tight to makee the right turn. Not for the faint hearted We were allocated rooms at the rear of the property which are accessed by a single lift. The room was clean. The restaurant was ok as was the food. They did have a good wine list however. The local town is 15 minutes down the valley so the hotel itself a little remote. We were part of a tour"

Villaggio Albergo San Lorenzo e Santa Caterina ★★★
"I went to this property to spend a relaxing weekend! The structure of the hotel is truly fascinating. Rooms furnished in rustic style and completely in keeping with the style of the structure! My room in particular had a river view where it was truly more than relaxing! Cleanliness of the rooms, excellent well-stocked breakfast with the option of having breakfast outside in the garden or inside! The girl at the reception was very kind, prepared and welcoming, also because having arrived early at check in she gave me immediate availability to access the swimming pool! I highly recommend this place enchanted by its atmosphere. I will be back soon to visit you"
