Property Description
The Cabin on the Hill features cottage style furnishings with a rustic twist. The flooring is a sustainable art paper floor featuring inlaid fall leaves from the property. Originally built by and home to a young Amish couple that moved to Minnesota with their growing family; we had the cabin moved to our farm on the foot of "the big hill" back in 2005 when we updated it to have electricity, appliances running water. We have an on-demand hot water system for limitless hot water, so feel free to fill the footed slipper tub and relax in the hot spring water or shower off after a day of hiking and then kick back in the oversized chair, the round cuddle couch, or the recliner in front of one of the electric fireplaces. Enjoy the remarkable sunsets overlooking Laurel Run Canyon from the top of the Big Hill. Enjoy the night sky, even the Milky Way, like through the veil of darkness only found in the remote night skies. Relax in front of the gas fire pit or slip into the hot tub for a relaxing soak. Enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience in the Hocking Hills. ++IMPORTANT NOTES++ ++Cabin comfortably and can privately sleep three couples or a max of 6 [NOTE: cabin is priced for 4 people, and separate charges are applied for each additional person per night]. ++*Must be 25 or older to rent the cabin and must be able to provide a valid ID. ++*No parties are permitted. ++Unregistered guests will result in immediate eviction without refund or an immediate payment for each unregistered guest must be paid at that time. ++the cabin is not suited to handicapped folks or small children due to its location and steep staircases, loft ladder and high railings. ++Although we are avid animal lovers, we do not allow pets as it is dangerous for them and for our animals. ++Other restrictions are addressed in the Rental Agreement. Want to explore the Hocking Hills State Parks? We are a short drive to many of the parks and guests have access to a trail to the hilltop on our property . Want to go horseback riding? The Spotted Horse Ranch is less than a mile from our farm. Or go canoeing or rafting in nearby Logan or rock climbing at the new High Rock Adventures in Rockbridge just off Route 33. Need to grab some groceries, gas or visit a local eatery? We are just 3 miles from Laurelville, featuring the world famous Laurelville cider or stop by The Ridge Inn for Jo's famous donuts! So, there are conveniences and attractions nearby, but they are completely out of site as you go into seclusion at the cabin! Other on-site activities such as walking the trails on the hill overlooking the canyon, barns and pond. Drop a line to catch a fish - we offer catch-and-release bluegill and bass and the occasional turtle from the dock on our spring-fed pond using our simple homemade cane poles. Bait is available in Laurelville, or use a piece of hot dog to catch a bluegill! Bring your hiking boots and enjoy the breathtaking view from the top of the big hill or even spread out a blanket and picnic and enjoy the one-of-a-kind view. Enjoy the overlooking views from the full wrap around porch. Grill something delicious to eat on the custom charcoal park-style grill pit. The MAIN floor bedroom has a queen-sized Serta Perfect Sleeper with Eurotop. The LOFT bedroom has a queen mattress with a foam topper and additional feather bed topper. The walk-out/daylight basement has a high-quality queen size pull-out SOFA BED with separate foam topper available for your comfort. Clean bedding and pillows are available for each bed. A round hot tub is available for your enjoyment on the bottom patio. We installed a cell signal booster for better cellular phone signal access under the metal roof of the cabin. Wireless internet access through Frontier DSL (best available in the area), is available free of charge, as is over the air TV channels depending upon weather conditions on the upstairs Smart TV which has a DVD/Blue Ray player with HDMI input and a ROKU device. The first floor has a smaller Smart TV that is also equipped with wireless, a DVD/Blu Ray player and HDMI inputs in case you want to bring along your favorite movie; we have a collection of movies from which you can choose. Nice cabin for girls' weekend! Pretty art pieces inside cabin, some of which made by the host and we're for sale! We did take a walk over to see the pond too - easy walk to and from. Appreciate the extra attention to detail for written driving directions

Very clean and private! Beautifully crafted cabin. I loved the walk to the pond and the views were to die for. We had the craziest thing happen. My call was answered promptly and problem solved within minutes. I would love to stay again and will definitely recommend.

Cabin was great and an excellent way to detach from day to day. We went for our 11th anniversary and it was just what we needed to relax and unwind. Sitting on the porch swing in the morning's with coffee was very relaxing and the hot tub at night to relax achy muscles was very nice. It was secluded and not to difficult to find. Thank you for the hospitality.

Loved the cabin, even though it rained for a portion of our stay we were able sit out on the porch swing and still enjoy the view. And it's not far from most of the trails or somewhere to get supplies either. Had a minor mishap with the AC leaking, but the Brenda was there immediately to fix the problem and was very polite, kind and friendly. It was a great birthday getaway for me and my family. 10/10
