Budget/Hostel type accommodation. Charge £3 per night for parking! They took money before we arrived despite saying we pay when we arrive. Room was tiny, bed against one wall so unsuitable for a couple. Bedspread was dirty and shower (in a cupboard) was mouldy. General feel of unclean - needed hoovering everywhere and floor was sticky. Needless to say we didn’t stay - booked Premier Inn.

This is a welcoming family-run hotel (well, more of a bed and breakfast). The cooked full English breakfast was great, and as we were walking the High Weald Landscape Trail, we appreciated the very deep bath to soak our tired limbs. The hotel is on the trail route so very convenient for us. We were given bananas, apples and mandarins to take with us for the onward journey. Room was small but comfortable with en-suite facilities.

I wish I'd read the reviews!! I usually do but for some reason I left this too long. It's a depressing place. Small dingy unmanned reception area. A disembodied voice on a phone. About as much charm as a kick in the face. When you are in the business of accommodation for people you should provide some degree of welcome. There was none in this place. I want, as a client, someone to greet me and ask if there is anything they can do. This place was maximum profit for minimum effort and expenditure. The only breakfast on offer was 10 minutes away in another location. Charged for parking onsite. A guy appeared in reception. He had little English and everything was done through the phone. The bedroom "Deluxe Twin Room" was tiny. Two small single beds crammed together with about 10 inches between them. One was against the wall. On the other side of the 2nd bed there was about 14 inches of space and then into a small en-suite. We tested the shower and that was poor as well. In front of the beds was about 6 foot of space. There were 2 very crusty towels between the 2 of us. Obviously old and washed with no softeners. Up to that point we had been having a great holiday. This was depressing. We lasted 1 hour or as long as it took to find somewhere nicer. A nine minute drive took us to a place that was cheaper, with a large airy room with loads of towels, a large en-suite and breakfast included. 4 or 5 star reviews are only given if in my opinion you've never stayed in any other accommodation and have no experience of traveling. Or in a squat. If this was £60 to £70 I could understand but this was £135!!! Beware, you can do better, for cheaper.

We were very worried after reading the reviews but still decided to go. We are so glad we did . I really don’t know what reviewers were talking about I thought we were in a different place. Our room was very nice, beds were clean and comfortable. Everything worked although there was a problem with the TV remote. I think we were put in the family room with a kitchenette, everywhere was beautifully clean and a bonus there was underfloor heating. Anand lodge is ideal for the bus stop, saves trying to find somewhere to park in Tunbridge Wells. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay there again.

We really liked staying here. It felt very welcoming, and really good value for money. I especially loved the garden with the pond and the space for quiet reflection. Really nice to have a kettle and a private bathroom too. I would recommend staying here, it was very welcoming, not pretentious or overpriced, and the staff were really nice. It's in good proximity to a pub where you can buy a plant-based meal too.

Have to write this post I gave a review via booking .com very poor room and stand by this . I very much resent lies they made on my post that they asked how the room was !!!. I gave the key in box you never asked if the stay was nice like you state you did hate lying, to make you look better . False totally false shocking room and you said we had one of the best rooms if that was best room glad I was not in another one . Really poor place zero effort

The place stinks of damp dogs! No manned reception. Check in by intercom for room code. Booked for 4 nights but stayed less than 5 minutes! No reply to messages... and didn't even realise we had left. Asked us to send review, which is pointless as they cannot be accessed. They claim 4.7 stars (all 5 or 4) but no reviews published on website. This is no better than a run-down hostel. Poor service, poor facilities, poor hygiene....... Poor customers!

Sadly the negative reviews of this ‘hotel’ are wrong, they fail to reflect just how disgusting this place it, it is totally filthy! The bins in my room (room 2) had not been emptied, old razors etc were still in the bin, the floor was covered in stains and dirt, and the bed covers ripped. Additionally, there is no reception, there s a place where they should be, but instead of a person, there is an intercom phone which goes who knows where to someone less interested than you might expect, therefore couldn’t get assistance with the poor quality of the room. Seriously avoid! The negative reviews here are more than justified!

The room had a door joining our room and next door. It may as well have been a curtain. The ‘guests’ next door were playing the TV at high volume all night, and turned it up when I asked them to turn it down. The curtains were hanging off. The water wasn’t on in the morning. We had to leave in the early hours due to the cigarette smoke in our room from next door. No staff to assist. Didn’t have any physical contact with staff. We’re given a code for the room via a phone. Was pretty much a hostel.
