The surrounding streets are under construction but it’s easy to park and get around. Exciting to see the area revitalized and this hotel is part of it. If you’re a Ree Drummond fan, the Merchantile is right across the street. Perfect location, great cowboy vibe and beautifully new decor everywhere. Clean, very comfortable and friendly staff. Our room with a king bed had a galley kitchen with fridge and microwave. Thanks for a great stay!!

Pawhuska , Ok is an old town that is currently under construction. Had we known this we would have waited until May to plan our trip. As we understand the first phase should be done by May 1, 2025. We were surprised at how many store fronts are vacant and in need of investors to bring this cute town back to life. We stayed at the Frontier Hotel which is located right across the street from Ree Dummond's Merc. Seemed like the perfect location since my cousin desperately wanted to visit the Merc & lodge on the 11th of October. Sad to report that the town is currently under construction. So both streets on both sides of the hotel were being dug up with big equipment. They started around 7 am each morning and quit at 5. The hotel is on Main St. so you hear the traffic of the big trucks going by each night. My cousin is handicapped and is unable to walk . She rides a scooter & has a handicap tag. Because of the construction we had to park the car a block away. For able body people that isn't a big deal. For her & others like her someone in the party had to walk to go get the car and bring it back to the hotel to pick her up. Now upon entering the hotel. A lovely lady welcomed us and explained the rules. We went to our room and it was really like something out of a magazine. Beautifully decorated, the layout provided for a table, kitchenette with a small fridge & microwave. 2 queen beds and sitting area. It was perfect in every way. I would suggest that when the refrigerators break replace it with one that has a freezer section in it. We had insulin so when traveling we have to carry ice packs. Typically the hotel we stat at overnight will put them in their freezer with our room number on it. We then pick it back up as we leave. However, the Frontier informed us they didn't have a freezer on site . So we left to head back to Denver the next morning without frozen ice packs. I would also suggest that plastic utensils be in the kitchen area of the room. We enjoyed bringing back cake for the evening snack but had nothing to eat it with. Would I stay at the Frontier Hotel again. ABSOLUTELY would I recommend it YES. Just wait until the streets are put back together .

The hotel is very convenient to restaurants and shopping in Pawhuska. If you like Ree Drummond, you will love that her restaurants and stores are within one block. Interestingly, when we registered for our room, it appeared that there was only the most expensive 800 square foot king suite available but there never more than 3 cars parked there. The people at the front desk were very kind and helpful. Now, the not so positive. Parking is across the street and around the corner. There is a very large level of construction right outside of the hotel and our room. It starts VERY early and continued all day. I realize that this is no fault of management and is nothing that they can control. HOWEVER, I think that we should have been told prior to our registration AND since my bill was over $400 for 2 nights, I truly believe that we should have been offered a discount. I had a migraine on day 2 and mentioned this on check out and they apologized but said " nothing they could do ".

Excellent hotel in a great area in downtown Pawhuska, OK. Beautiful historic hotel with western furnishings and well appointed rooms. We had a room on the third floor with an exceptional view. Staff is friendly and helpful. Must stay here when in town.

More than we expected! Our room was huge, it had a kitchen area(no stove or oven) but had a microwave, coffee maker and a large refrigerator for a hotel room. The hotel is a boutique style hotel so it doesn't have a pool or fitness room. But we weren't looking for either of those. Our room was on the fifth floor overlooking the Pioneer Woman Mercantile across the street. Everything was clean and nice. the bed was very comfy and the staff were very friendly and helpful with all our questions. If planning a trip to Pawhuska for all things Pioneer Woman or anything else this is the place to stay and the price is right. We stayed two nights and were very pleased with the Frontier Hotel.

Excellent stay for the third time at The Frontier! I stayed in the 2 queen beds room on the 5th floor. Huge room and space. Very comfortable and the ac was working very well even though it was 100 degrees outside. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who can't get in to The Boarding House across the street.

We stayed over the weekend of July 12-14. It was two friends meeting up in the middle- and Pawhuska was the perfect spot. We arrived on Friday evening and unloaded the cars before moving them to the parking lot. We found our room to be spacious and comfortable. We were in a Pioneer Suite and it was perfect for us. We used the kitchenette for our snacks and drinks (just bring your own!)- and leftovers from our meals. We’d sit at the two person table and chat- or wait while the other was getting ready. We used the bed and pull out- tip for fellow travelers- if using the pullout, sleep facing the opposite way! The A/C was amazing for the super hot weather. The barn door doesn’t offer much for sound privacy- but does for visual privacy. We both agreed- they used the space great! We just wish for additional seating for when the pull out is being used. The elevator was slow only during busy times (like checkout)- otherwise, it was great. Staff were always friendly and we enjoyed chatting with folks. Most everything is closed on Sunday- so don’t expect a meal at the Mercantile on Sunday at all. That’s ok- eat your leftovers in the fridge from Saturday for breakfast! We ate at P-Town Pizza for Friday night- short wait, but oh so worth it. We enjoyed our Not-Knots, Salad and Pizza. And strong, but yummy, adult beverages. We had a snack at Charlie’s Sweet Shop for ice cream. Delicious. We ate at the Mercantile for breakfast and dinner on Saturday. Honestly, we came for the food. And we were not disappointed. If I could have licked my plate after finishing my Chicken Fried Steak, I would have. It was amazing and I could cut it with a fork. For breakfast, the yogurt parfait was delicious and leftovers were perfect later that day. I would definitely go back to Pawhuska to eat at the Mercantile and I would stay at the Frontier Hotel!

Room 401 is very nice except for the bathroom “door”. It’s one of those sliding barn door types and it just barely covers the opening to the toilet. It doesn’t fit tight at all so there is no privacy against sounds and smells. It’s an elegant hotel except for that.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The character, the lobby, the smell and as for our room - wow, it was amazing. I would have happily stayed in the room and not gone anywhere but we had places to eat and shops to visit! Two suggestions - make more of the frontage - it doesn't do justice to the interior of the hotel. Also there is a fab kitchen area - maybe put some basics in, at least a couple of plates. I'd love to say we'd be back but we visited from the UK so it's highly unlikely, but we loved our night's stay there, thunderstorm and all.
