- No beach at "The Beach"
- Nothing to do around here if you don't have your own scooter.
If you go to "The Beach" Resort and Residence, you will find out that the beach actually consists of jagged rocks and is absolutely unsuitable for either walking or relaxation. The place is very clean and offers tasty food for dinner.

I would not book this hotel if it’s absolutely necessary just like the situation we were in when we had to stay close by the airport to catch the early flight the next day in the morning. The hotel is only 10 minutes away by car so it’s convenient in that regard but it’s not close to any shops or restaurants which means you have to buy things from the hotel which are significantly overpriced. The restaurant food is a complete rip-off. The two of us ordered two dishes (one bowl of rice noodle with prawns and seafood fries and rice) and two hot tea which costed us just under 1000 baht!!!
The only way you can get in and out of the hotel is by private taxi or their own transport which is also extremely expensive.  They charge 200 baht per person for 10 minute ride between the hotel and the airport. 
The guest room looks clean, but it smelt dampness. There is no toiletry so be prepared with your own supply. The shower holder is fixed on the wall which means the showerhead is splashing water directly into the wall not to yourself. You have to hold the shower hose to wash yourself.

Although the hotel looks good from the outside the inside was lackluster. Our room smelled of mold, the whole hotel was nearly deserted, restaurant food was overpriced for what it was. We stayed only 1 night to catch a flight from Chumphon airport and the transfer costed us 200 baht per person (10 minute ride!) so make sure you arrange transport beforehand.

Staff are super nice and helpful with whatever you need, clean, price is fair. Location is specific for us since we had an early flight so we wanted to be close to the airport but other than that, there’s nothing really special around. Near the university
