Guest UserHad a genuinely pleasant stay here as a solo traveller. The hosts were incredibly meticulous and punctual throughout my stay, helping me with my luggage up to Level 2 and even upgrading my room while allowing me to choose the one I preferred. They thoughtfully planned my departure timing the next morning and arranged transport for me as well.
The location was excellent, just a short 2 minute walk into Furong Ancient Town with plenty of food and places to explore nearby. They even brought me to see the waterfall and helped purchase my scenic area tickets in advance, which saved me the hassle of queueing or figuring things out upon arrival. Truly appreciated the hospitality and care, would definitely recommend staying here if visiting Furong Town.

The hotel is excellent. It's located just outside the main scenic area, so it's not noisy and very quiet. There's a large, free parking lot nearby, which is very convenient. The hotel's design is great, the rooms are spacious, and they even come with a scenic balcony. All the facilities are complete, and it's clean and hygienic, making for a very comfortable stay.
While it's only about a ten-minute walk to the scenic area, the hotel provides a dedicated shuttle service. This means you can enjoy a comfortable stay and save energy exploring the sights.
What's more, the hotel group also operates other guesthouses and bars within the scenic area. When you're exploring, you can visit their bar for some great photo opportunities – it's a popular spot for snapping photos of the waterfall, offering a unique perspective from across the river, opposite the official viewing platform. It's definitely worth a visit for some fantastic shots. The bar owner is incredibly enthusiastic too! The hotel had mentioned there wouldn't be a minimum spend and that we'd get complimentary tea and snacks, but the bar owner went above and beyond and even gave us an extra half-dozen beers. We're very grateful for that!
The hotel itself also has a hot spring on its sixth-floor rooftop, which is incredibly relaxing after exploring the ancient town. The butler even surprised us with a complimentary bottle of red wine, which was another unexpected bonus.
Overall, this hotel is truly excellent, offers fantastic value for money, and is highly recommended.

Guest UserRecommended hotel to stay. The location was excellent, very close to the entertainment area of Furong Town, which made it convenient for us to explore around. The price was also very reasonable for the quality and experience we received.
The hotel was clean and well maintained, and the surrounding atmosphere was very peaceful and comfortable. Staying here felt like living in a neat, clean, and refreshing village environment. It was a relaxing and pleasant experience overall.

Guest UserThe host gave us the most amazing service ever. The homestay was super cosy with a wooden vibe and we got updated to a bigger room for free. We had the best sleep because the beds were so spacious and comfortable. On top of that, thehost picked us up from the train station (and dropped us off the next day) and we had so much fun communicating through the translation app. Recommend this homestay with my whole heart.

Judah JibrinStayed June 2026 — 5/5, would book again
I picked Baihe River Valley because it sits right inside the core scenic area of Furong Town, and that turned out to be the best decision of the trip. The inn is only about a 5-minute walk to the Grand Waterfall, opened in 2020 with just 21 rooms, so it feels small and personal rather than a big hotel.
First impression: awesome staff. I was met at the entrance, luggage carried up, and even though my Mandarin is limited we sorted everything on WeChat in two minutes. That matches what other guests keep saying — “really friendly and helpful… view was amazing and rooms clean”, and “staff are so lovely, kind and helpful”. They also arranged a free pickup from the train station and dropped me back the next morning, which took all the stress out of arriving in the ancient town.
The environment is exactly what you hope for in Furong. Chinese-style décor, warm wood, and it’s spotless — 24-hour hot water, strong WiFi everywhere, daily housekeeping. My mountain-view queen room was 25m², quiet, no dust, bed made perfectly each day. Others note the same: “room is clean and bed was comfortable”.
Food was a real highlight. The in-house restaurant runs a la carte from 07:30 to 19:30 with outdoor tables, and breakfast is Chinese-style 07:30–09:30. I tried their Tujia national cuisine in the evening — simple, hearty, locally sourced — and the home-cooked breakfast the next morning was tasty and warming, just as another guest described. Breakfast was “nice” is an understatement when you’re eating it with the waterfall mist in the air.
And the views. One of a kind is not marketing. From my third-floor window I could see the tiled roofs of Furong Ancient Town, and at night the whole gorge lights up. The hotel is positioned “very well, close to the waterfall at 5 minutes walk”, and I was upgraded to a room looking down onto the ancient town — “particularly amazing at night”. Waking up to the roar of the falls, drinking tea on the balcony, watching the lights reflect off the river — that’s the memory I’ll keep.
Practical bits: 24/7 front desk, check-in after 12:00, check-out before 14:00, free shuttle service available, pets allowed, and the staff will help with town entry tickets.
Overall: friendly people who actually care, great local food, an impeccably clean and calm base, and waterfall views you can’t get anywhere else. It’s currently rated 9.5/10 from 757 reviews, and after staying, I get why. If you want to experience Furong Town without the crowds and noise, stay here — and ask for a mountain-view room on floor 3 or 4.

The Perfect View & Peaceful Escape in Furong Town
If you are visiting Furong Ancient Town, Nianxi Courtyard is an exceptional choice. It offers the perfect balance of proximity and peace.
The Location: It is much more accessible than expected—less than a 2-minute walk from the main road and a quick 3-minute stroll down the slope to the town entrance. This is a huge advantage because the ancient town can be very noisy with live music from open-air pubs; staying here allows you to enjoy the quiet while being just steps away from the action.
1) The Room & Views: The rooms are super clean and modern. The absolute highlight is the balcony and garden, which offer stunning views of Furong Town illuminated at night. It’s a breathtaking sight to enjoy with a cup of tea. Also it is newly renovated.
2) Exceptional Hospitality: The owner lives on-site, making the property feel very safe. She went above and beyond, lighting the path for us for night walks and recommending a fantastic restaurant with river views and local cuisine. We were even treated to fresh seasonal tangerines for our walks and breakfast!
3) Transport Logistics: Since public buses aren't readily available. We took taxi to the place. The owner can arranged a very reasonably priced private transfer for us when we wanted to head back to the station. Always inform in advance so that it will be not at others inconvenience.
4) Pro Tip: Don't miss the local performances at the square (throughout the day, do check on the schedule) and riverside in the evening—they are a must-see!
Sad that we stayed only 1 night. But Furong is enough for a 1 day trip unless extended stay is to more of a relax and be lazy trip.

MerleyThe glamping site is very near the observatory deck of Furong waterfalls. The dome tent are quite far away from each other, so you have a bit of privacy in your lawn. There's some space in the platform where you can view the Youshi river and bird watching. At night it's peaceful and you can hear the crickets while sleeping. In the morning you can hear the birds chirping. It was a pleasant stay thought they were not able to provide the breakfast buffet because there were few guest around. But they were able to provide me a simple meal for my breakfast. The hotel also provides free pick-up service to and from the Train station.

The hotel is one of the highlights of our trip in Zhangjiajie, we’re glad to have chosen this one for 3 nights :
- location is near the middle gate (Zimugang), far from tourists/tour groups crowds, we were there early April and there was no queue at all, perfect if you have kids
It takes a short 15 minutes walk to reach the gate from the hotel.
Also a short 10-15 minutes Didi ride to Wulinyuan district if you want to eat in the main village, or from the South Gate if you want to start/finish the day with the Golden Whip stream
- owners are very very nice and helpful, they arranged to pick us up from yongding district (around 45 min drive), and helped us book tickets for attractions.
We contacted them through Trip couple of days before we got there and they helped us book the entry to the park (valid for 4 days, we chose the option with unlimited cable car and Bailong elevators rides which they offered at a great price)
- breakfast has decent options, they can also cook fresh noodle soups on the spot upon request
- the best part for us was the hotel nestled among the mountains : view from the room or from the breakfast terrace is exceptional with majestic mountains as your backdrop
- the room itself was also amazing, excellent value for money :
super clean,
equipped with the Chinese version of Alexa which was great entertainment for the kids,
Very spacious,
The bonus bathtub next to the window to ask in a relaxing bath after a long day of walk
And again the view from our room was incredible !!!
We will definitely come back to this hotel if we come back to Zhangjiajie, can’t recommend enough !!
