"The guesthouse is located a little far from the center, but there is silence and peace. The bed is comfortable, air conditioning and refrigerator work, the bathroom has warm water in the shower, but the drainage cage is dangerously bent so that you can cut your leg by taking a shower. Breakfast is simple but fresh, but there was something for the heat (egg or steam). It is difficult to understand, because only one person speaks English. Cleaning the room on request. The worst thing is the Internet connection, and the WiFi connection is breaking down and you can't watch TV because the same way the programs are shut down. Probably the TV is working through the Internet. The Internet is necessary to improve."

"There were three of us. We arrived at night, and received a very unfriendly welcome. We received no information about the area. The shower didn't work. Breakfast started at 8:30, which was impossible before then. The breakfast coffee was terrible, and it made me feel sick. Finally, they wouldn't let us use the bathroom before we left; it was in the afternoon. A Brazilian agency called Infinitas took us there. Their lack of friendliness and professionalism were notable. The location is not in the historic center."

After we stayed we were getting a late bus so they let us stay, shower and hang out until midnight. We stayed one night in a different hotel and they wouldn’t let us do this but the guys in Che lagarto were very relaxed about everything. Perfect stay and the location is great too"

"This hotel is in a great location, easy walk to the old town but not too noisy at night and handy for local amenities and shops. It is set around an attractive courtyard and all the rooms look out onto the pool. The room was rather on the small side with no sitting area, not really anywhere to put the cases and only some hanging pegs. Having said that it had a fridge and a safe (with a very old fashioned key) and it did have AC but this was extremely noisy. It was really hot when we arrived as they had left the window open but it soon cooled down. There was also plentiful hot water in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. There is a grating between the bathroom and the corridor which can't be isolated and if there are other noisy guests it's very audible. Reception were a little bit lacklustre but the guy who looked after the breakfast was amazing, so friendly and helpful, and also had better English than the reception staff. Breakfast was good for a small hotel, with plenty fresh fruit and a selection of interesting breads and pastries. There was some hot food and they could make you an omelette. The selection changed every day, and they will cut up exotic fruit from the bowl for you. The pool was very nice and warm with some seating around it. Unfortunately the hotel is big enough to take small groups and this meant breakfast could be crowded and noisy if you hit the same time as the group."

"Our trip was in the first week of March. We were met by Natan, an extremely helpful, polite, and friendly employee who helped us with everything! The location is exceptional; you don't need a car for anything. There are many shops nearby, including pharmacies, restaurants, banks, snack bars, burger joints, and pizzerias. Plus, it's practically next to the bus station! Everything is perfect, close to the pier where the tours depart and the historic center. If you're looking for a good place at an affordable price, this is the place. The breakfast is very good; what bothered us a bit was the lack of toppings for the breakfast items, such as cakes and breads, as there are also a lot of flies and bees there. They also have tapioca and freshly made omelets. The pool is perfect, large, and always very clean, but the surrounding area is not so much so; the poolside lounge areas had moldy cushions and mattresses. The room is ok, very simple, but with the heavy rains in Paraty, a leak appeared, the minibar was also very fragile, the bathroom in the room we were staying in was very old... Overall it is great, when we weigh up the cost and benefit, but there are many things that could be improved."

However, we did not expect to find the dining and pool areas full of school children on a residential trip. I think this could have been pointed out to us in advance as it made lounging by the pool anything but relaxing."

"We were very well received at the inn! João and Rafaela treat guests with great affection!! And to make the inn even more charming, there's Moah, a Golden Retriever who lives there bringing love to everyone, besides Raio and the other beautiful dogs that appear there. My rating wasn't excellent because the inn is quite far from the city center and access to it is very difficult! The inn is in the middle of the forest, so it has a perfect environment to literally connect with nature! And it really is literally that way, haha. It was a pleasant experience!"

"This hotel is dangerous and should not be visited. They poisoned my colleague with pesticide through a mistake in spraying THROUGH the air conditioning units (he was asleep and was breathing this in for several hours) and took no responsibility whatsoever. He was very ill for three days and they never even checked on him, also not when we had to take him to hospital. That being said, it's a very low quality hotel. Amenities are broken or outdated and it's so minimalistic, it's almost impossible to live there. Careful, there are open high voltage wires INSIDE the shower. And there isn't even a small bedside lamp. The cleaning lady took my drinking water the few times she came and threw away the bottle, even if it was still half full. And are the many bites and blisters on my legs when I woke up bugs that are in the mattress?? It's very, very possible. All in all, never again."
