Palm Mountain Resort & Spa

A diamond in the rough. The hotel is in a great location, one block off S. Palm Canyon Drive, it has a very nice pool area with beautiful fruit trees and flowers which smelled wonderful however despite a recent "renovation" of the rooms, the hotel really could use a few more dollars pumped into it. All rooms have outdoor access but face the pool area with nice sized balconies. The room itself is large but the bathroom was super small for two people; very little clearance between the door and the toilet when seated and one small sink. Enough towels for two people and "attached to the wall" toiletries. The bed linens weren't your Marriott or Hilton level either. There is a dorm style refrigerator to keep a few drinks in as well a small microwave, small in that our popcorn bag couldn't fully expand and rotate. There are a few shelves and a couple of drawers for storage. The grounds and exterior of the buildings are really what took this down a few levels for me. Scuffed doors to the rooms, a randomly placed ice machine, chipping paint on the floors. It all gave outdated, not kept up motel vibes. The pool area was nice and kept clean although the one day the hot tub looked a tad cloudy. It does have two gas fire pits for the evenings which were great. There isn't an on site restaurant or bar however there are a few snacks and cold drinks available for purchase in the lobby. The lobby had a few tables for gathering and games as well as bikes to use on a first come first serve basis which was great. I booked based on the website's photo's which of course are professional but only showed the pool and room, not the bathroom. I do hope they continue with their renovations to include the bathrooms and the exterior areas because first impressions are lasting.
