Peppers Beach Club & Spa Palm Cove

A short overnight stay at Peppers Palm Cove in a lovely clean garden view apartment. The apartment had all the necessary things you need. The pool areas are lovely but crowded & no loungers which was very disappointing with people coming early and reserving the seats then spending no time there. In saying that I don't know how the management can change this perhaps a second row of loungers behind the the first. The included breakfast was very good and a pleasant surprise. Overall a great stay.

Apart from the pool areas and surrounds, to rate this as a 5 star resort is a total misdescription. Of the six 2 to 3 storey buildings which comprise the hotel, only one has a lift; there is no room service; no bottled water is provided; a minibar is provided only on request. The only restaurant is housed in a sort of plastic tent adjacent to the entrance with uncomfortable furniture apparently purchased at a rummage sale and a menu consisting of a few lame Mexican dishes as well as the usual suspects. No food is available at all on Sunday and Monday nights. The bar is unwelcoming with an equally limited choice of spirits, beer and cocktails. The pool bar must be the only one in the Southern Hemisphere which cannot or will not provide a Bloody Mary. Aside from the above, there is an overall absence of luxury and comfort and an undercurrent of penny-pinching as though the hotel is running on a shoestring. We shall not repeat the experience.

Great resort, Trent (manager) and karen were fantastic hosts. Liam the chef cooked bacon majestically and Daniel was oh so friendly at Breakfast. We stayed in the same room as we did previously (apartment at the serenity pool area). Loved it. The apartment was superb, the bed conmfy and and the towells were fluffy. A very enjoyable relaxing stay. My only negative - and its not really a biggie - is the breakfast. The same food was served every day (for a week) with the only change being mushrooms for baked beans. The fruit was dissapointing and was constantly empty. The cakes / pastries were not really enjoyable. There was a slight variation on a sultana bread pudding (which was tasteless) and a couple of days there was carrot cake. Albeit the slices were far too small. There needed to be more variety plus an omlette station would have been nice. But hey, next time we just won't go for breakfast and take our own. probably better for me anyway. But hey, we enjoyed the facilities of the resort, it's location and the staff. We will return to this resort.
