We have just returned from our stay at the CAPO D'ORSO hotel after spending 10 nights at this beatiful location. I'll start with the negative points first, unfortunately we arrived at 1 in the morning due to an air traffic delay in the Uk and were told that the air conditionioning in our room wasn't working but they had put a portable unit in the room but boy was it noisy you couldn't sleep with it, it took nearly 36 hours till it was fixed, surely in a five star hotel you make sure the basic functionality is working. The second negative was that on one day (8th August) that we sat on the beach there was no drink service on the beach till 3.00 in the afternoon by that point we gave up and went elsewhere. The girl who came down occasionally was not interested in serving anyone. The previous day we were asked every 10 minutes if we wanted drinks! Total lack of management that day. The only other small gripe is that some days we never had any flannels on our daily room clean, I can't believe how may 5 star hotels don't get the basics right! Onto the positives we booked half board and ate in the GIL OLIVASTRI restaurant for breakfast and dinner, at breakfast there is music from a harpist and a good choice of food. For dinner a sumptuous 4 course meal was served every night, the menu was completely different every night which was refreshing. Claudio the head waiter (maitre D) kept the restaurant ticking perfectly which was highlighted on his day off as the service went severely downhill, which shows Claudio as a true leader and such a nice friendly man, nothing was too much trouble. A big thank you to Roberto who served us most days your service was impeccable. I approached the hotel before booking as I do not eat fish or salad and wanted to ensure that I would be catered for, I asked Galyana for an example menu and I was told that they could not share a menu in advance, all I wanted was an example menu. I was looking at a number of hotels and due to the very negative response I received from Galyana and considering the cost of this hotel I was not going to book if I don't know that I was going to be catered for. I was about to confirm another hotel after her poor response when I received a very lovely email from Francesco in Concierge who kindly sent me an example menu and also the full details of all the restaurants and can honestly say if I had not received that email I would not have booked the hotel. During our stay Francesco was superb with his service booking us taxi's at short notice and giving advice on local attractions. Francesco is a credit to the hotel, super efficient, friendly and knowledgeable, I wish all the staff could take a leaf from Francesco, he single handedly made our holiday. The pool could probably use a bit of love in its appearance, green on some of the walls on the side, but I personally primarily swam in the sea in any case. WE managed to find sunbeds most days without too many issues but we noticed the German and E

Fabulous stay. From arrival the staff here are excellent. Allesandro's wonderful staff cater for your every need. This beautiful hotel has so many areas where you can be private whilst still enjoying a 5 star service- discreetly and efficiently making the stay very special. Exquisite food; great wines and ......I could go on but I think you get the picture. Just come and experience it yourself!

What a rare find of a hotel with so many stand out bits. Lushly planted with a boutique edge to room decor and friendly staff many of whom had been there for years, a picturesque setting, plenty of sun beds with privacy- which aren’t reserved ! And then also a fabulous restaurant included in half board with an outdoor terrace. Pinch me - still cannot believe the chef designed a new four course menu every night with 4 choices for each course and the food was simply exceptional (and with no supplemental costs- so rare). There were so many canapés and live nightly music with pre dinner drinks it started our evenings perfectly. Took a great hike to a wild beach and lighthouse. The gym was open to the sea and drew even us in ! Just an hour from Olbia airport, with a truly green ethos - this was a dream find. Gosh this place is fabulous ( we would come back for the Gli Olivastri restaurant alone !)

The beauty of this hotel lies in its location set on a beautiful stretch of coastline in a park and garden setting. We had a truly wonderful and very relaxing ten day holiday based at Capo d'Orso. We reached the hotel via Olbia airport, hired a car there and reached the hotel in a 50 minute drive. We were greeted on arrival and the friendly hotel staff took immediate responsibility for our car, luggage and reception. We stayed in a Junior Executive Suite, located at the upper level of the hotel. It is all low rise and built on the hillside. One slight disappointement is that these suites are advertised with an image which shows a terrace with both chairs and sunloungers. We only had chairs on a smaller terrace. Credit to the hotel staff for immediately supplying a lounger on request. The suite was clean and comfortable. It's decor in keeping with the rural, village feel of the property. The staff at the hotel are really friendly and professional. We loved our breakfast each day. There was plenty of choice and the staff were attentive and engaged. We loved listening to the harpist play each morning. We ate in two of the three restaurants, as well as some local restaurants away from the hotel. We found the food delicious, well cooked to our liking and beautifully presented. A special tahnks to Komal, for working with our daughter to give us a suprise 50th wedding anniversary dinned at Il Pagurao, with a bouquet of flowers and a special anniversary dessert. Credit to the gardining team for keeping the environment natural and beautiful. Everyone seemed to be doing there best to make this a magical place for the guests. What you see on the web site is what you'll get. It is not cheap but you get value for your money. Highly recommended.

This is one of the most beautiful places we have visited and we travel a lot. It’s total unspoilt beauty. The hotel is fantastic , the staff lovely and all set in wonderful gardens with superb views. We spent the whole week sunbathing on one of the platforms over the sea which is just bliss so can’t comment on the many other facilities, the Spa, Marina and boat hire or Golf course. However we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. A special mention to the staff, especially Georgia and Jacamo in the snack bar who served us lunch every day and were brilliant. And all of the Gli Olivestri staff but especially Claudio and Roberto who make the dining experience special and a special mention to Jury who was the epitomy of a great waiter. No real negatives at all . It’s not the cheapest but you get what you pay for and this place is well worth the expense. Can’t wait to come back. Don’t listen to the negative reviews absolute nonsense

Service and staff were amazing. Setting and scenery out of this world. Food on the whole good but breakfast options for a five star were limited. The one thing that totally shocked me was the accommodation. 20 years out of date. It’s a 2 star. The extractor fan in the bathroom was so loud we couldn’t think. The aircon was too loud at night and sitting on a shelf with the door removed. No casing around the sink with pipes showing. No bath. Broken loo flusher. The room safe - broken - and was decades old. The pool was unappealing, with stained tiles and broken mortar. This is a very expensive hotel so if you’re looking for luxury accommodation you will feel ripped off. This hotel has many positives but needs a major refurb or a major price reduction.

We are completing a 5-night stay at this beautiful resort immediately above the Mediterranean Sea. The property is beautifully maintained, and I’m happy to have splurged for a sea view suite with private terrace. The resort is spotless, and the staff are constantly keeping things perfect. More impressively, the staff are so kind and helpful and clearly want every guest to have a great experience. The food is exceptional with a lot of variety; the dinners are equal to a fine dining experience anywhere. We will definitely return to Capo d’Orso!

Hotel Capo D'Orso is magical. While breathing five-star luxury without stuffiness, it is the perfect place to relax. The views are stunning, the staff are marvelous, and the dining options superlative. For a small property, there is more than enough choice of restaurants, and plenty of space to lose yourself just as much as you might want to. There is no shortage of activities yet an abundance of spots to relax in private. The hotel arranged a car service for me from Olbia airport and I was glad that I could sit back and enjoy the views. My room was well appointed, but most of all I loved my large terrace. Time stops still at Capo d'Orso and I was most reluctant to leave.
