It's a nice beach hotel, having a good restaurant and the staff is very friendly. To be recommended except regarding their laundry service because they are not offering to clean separate individual items of clothing as is usually offered in most hotels. A fully loaded washing machine would be charged even if you only need to wash a single item.

I'll be totally honest. My heart dropped when the taxi said we were at the hotel. Until the gate opened. Great staff, so helpful. Room with a view. Food was excellent, house keeping available any time. Cleanliness was outstanding. The four pools are maintained to an extremely high standard. TheBeach wasn't as I expected. It's only a short walk but it's not the most scenic walk. This hotel is NOT on the beach. Private beach is small but everything is provided for you, from sun beds to towels, waiter service (Ali was wonderful). Plenty of entertainment. Young groups of dancers showing off their tumbling skills. Men selling coconuts, shoes you name it someone will want to sell you something. Very different culture. But every one is so helpful from staff to anyone you meet. They cannot do enough for you. For me it was definitely a lazy beach holiday but there are plenty of tours to go on which can be booked at the hotel. Most cost $50. The choice is yours. Would most definitely recommend a stay at this hotel.

I stayed at Dhow inn Zanzibar with my little family of 4. I had exceptional customer services from Sara, the customer relations manager. She went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met. The owners are very very lucky to have her. Issa was an excellent waiter,, always on point and very attentive. Timiuko was so motherly and kind. I have had the best holiday thanks to the staff at Dhow inn. The staff are amazing, the food is exceptional, the room was always tidy, housekeeping was amazing. I could not fault a single thing. We went full board because of the kids and it was the best decision we made as the food was mouth watering, we were able to try out Swahili food as well as other cuisines. The beach is only 4-6 minutes away, the pools were always so clean. We had the best family holiday. Can’t wait to be back.

We are all-in and everything is restrictive…. The departure times are totally strict… if you have a bit of jet lag, the All Inclusive is ruined. For ice cream it's vanilla chocolate but if you order a meal or Nutella they charge you. If you ask for fruit at 3 p.m.… they don't bring it to you if you have lunch at 12:30! We also paid for a PREMIUM room and we are in a basic room… in short it's downright rip-off. I'm furious!

Fantastic hotel with incredibly friendly staff. Soooo delicious food in a beautiful setting. The peace of this small-scale hotel is great. The rooms are beautiful and the cozy terrace for your morning coffee provides more than enough privacy. Only downside, but that is the case for all of Zanzibar: the electricity regularly goes out, but fortunately the hotel has an emergency generator that always starts up immediately. We would love to come back.
