It felt like home away from home. We will definitely be going back!"

"What an amazing getaway. We stayed for one night in the middle of winter and never got cold, the tents were so warm, cozy and well insulated. The restaurant serves excellent food. The staff are so friendly and wonderful. We went for a bush safari drive at sunset and an elephant experience in the morning and would recommend both. The elephants are such incredible creatures to see, touch and feed up close."

"It is a pity that we stayed here for just 1 day! The hostess has booked a table for us at the best nearest restaurant. The combination of architecture and the atmosphere of the farm is beautiful. The only minus: In other reviews people said they saw a mouse, but I, unfortunately, have not seen them anywhere, only 3 beautifully nurtured dogs of the hostess. I will come back here for a longer time."

"Soetdoring (on De Zeekoe farm) was the first stayover we had for our honeymoon, and we were so impressed! We had such easy and effective communication with the owner, received a tranquil cabin with a beautiful big patio overlooking the farm dam and felt so at peace. The cabin is also equipt with everything and more (aircon, wifi, braai facilities, modern bathroom and a nice big bed with mosquito netting). The farm has ample wildlife and bird species to view (so bring your binoculars!) and to add icing to the cake, the farm even has an amazing restaurant just a few minutes away! What more do you want? "

"We stayed for one night and were made to feel very welcome by the owners who are rightly proud of their historic property. You are but a few minutes walk from the town centre where there are several restaurants, although only one was open on the Sunday we were there. There is a lovely terrace area overlooking the suspension bridge and river below the lodge. Our room was not large but it was more than adequate for our needs and the electric blanket on the bed was a welcome addition to our overall comfort. Everywhere was very clean and the interior of the property had retained much of its character from yesteryear with quality furniture throughout. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious."

"Very nice stay as guests of a lifetime friend. The room (honeymoon suite) was excellent but very dark to our liking. Our room however required some maintenance! Toilet kept running after flushing, toilet roll holder was loose, and a few electrical issues. Outdoor relaxation area was excellent."

"First impressions of De Denne were excellent, the setting is beautiful, and our room (and our friends' room next door) each had a seating area outside and overlooked one of the pools. The sunset and then the stars were stunning. We had dinner at De Denne on our first night which was very good. Reasonably priced and very good service. Our first breakfast was good ... a small buffet selection was set up, and we were also able to order cooked food from the breakfast menu. However, on our second morning, we went in to breakfast and sat down. I asked the lady helping us if I could order from the cooked menu, as we all had the previous day, and was simply told 'No'. I was directed towards the buffet food and told that was what was available that day. There were no bowls for the cereal or yogurt so I asked for a bowl, and was handed one a few minutes later by the same lady who didn't even look at me when she handed it over. A little while later she then offered me the menu to order some cooked food, but I declined as I had already eaten something else by then. The lady then asked me 'If I was really okay or just saying that'. To be honest this spoilt the stay a little as I felt I was an inconvenience ... and I am sure this is not how you would want guests to feel. "
