Le Petit Karoo ★★★★
"What an amazing way to celebrate my birthday! Magnificent views, stunning, immaculate rooms and fantastic service! The honeymoon suite is to die for! It has outstanding views and its own pool! Karen and Tracey are the new owners and have put their heart and soul into creating a magnificent experience for their guests. Great hospitality, accommodating and friendly people. It felt like home away from home. We will definitely be going back!"
Buffelsdrift Game Lodge ★★★★
"Nice tented camp, nice restaurant, nice activities including game drives We spent there 2 days with the 2-days package. Recent huge rains unfortunately for them impacted some activities"
Hlangana Lodge ★★★★
"Great place for a one night stop when in Oudtshoorn. The receptionist were super friendly and welcoming"
Old Mill Lodge, Seasonal Working Ostrich Farm & Restaurant, Oudtshoorn ★★★★
"Ticked all the boxes. Beautiful scenery: Animals, plants, river and mountains. Beautiful apartment, practical, clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. What more can I say: GO!!!!"
Oue Werf Country House ★★★★
"We had an amazing experience staying at Oue Werf, only stayed one night but it was still amazing. Would highly recommend this stay."
Protea Hotel Oudtshoorn Riempie Estate ★★★★
"We underestimated the travel time over the mountain passes in South Africa so after being already late on our way to the Cango Caves near Oudtshoorn we decided to stay overnight in this Protea Hotel in Oudtshoorn. Was an excellent decision. Very friendly receptionist, very attentive service including restaurant, nice King size bed and the room also very clean! Graham, the jack of all trades was the icing on the cake! Highly recommended."
De Zeekoe Guest Farm ★★★★
"We had a pleasant stay at De Zeekoe Guest House, nestled on a quiet and scenic farm just outside Oudtshoorn. The location is peaceful, with lovely views and a real sense of calm. The pool area is a highlight with lush green surroundings, plenty of loungers and towels, and a small but refreshing pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious with a comfortable bed. We also appreciated the free bikes, although they are a bit dated. A big plus was how helpful the team was in arranging local excursions they assisted us with bookings for the Cango Caves and the ostrich farm, which made planning easy and stress-free. A few points to note: dinner is only served between 6pm and 7:30pm and food had to be ordered before 5pm, which felt a bit restrictive. Breakfast was basic, with no fresh coffee and some items like honey and jam running out. In our room, the extractor fan grill needed cleaning, and unfortunately, we had no hot water for a morning shower. Overall, a nice setting and warm service, with a few small areas for improvement."
Miles B&B Guest House ★★★
"The guesthouse was very welcoming, we had a lovely room with balcony overlooking the pool and garden. It was lovely pool area to relax by and excellent facilities. Lana cooked a lovely breakfast too. The location of the property was ideal you could walk into the town if you wanted or it was an easy drive. "
Soetdoring Selfsorg ★★★
"Exceptional value for money! Soetdoring Selfsorg offers tranquility and stunning views by the dam and is just a short drive from town. The accommodation quality was top-notch and the views were absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend it for a rustic and comfortable stay in the Oudtshoorn area. Kayaking on the dam was one of the many highlights. It's conveniently located near popular tourist spots, and the staff were super helpful and friendly. The amenities met all our needs. This was our first stay, but definitely not our last. Highly recommend—5 stars!"

La Plume Boutique Hotel & Spa
"This was a great spot to break our journey from Franschhoek to Plettenburg Bay. Would have enjoyed an extra day here as the amenities are excellent. The accommodation was spacious and very elegant reflecting the rich heritage of the area as the centre of the ostrich feather industry in Edwardian times."
HouseMartin Lodge & Self Catering
"We stayed at House Martin in de Rust for two days the last weekend of January with friends. Our hosts Jan and Theresa was fantastic and Jan prepared the most delicious breakfasts and dinners which was served by two friendly ladies. Our room with en-suite bathroom and aircon and a comfortable queen bed was perfect. At the pool area there was tables and chairs where we could sit till late night and enjoy the fresh Karoo air and silence. The two days felt like a long holiday. Thank you for everything - we will be back soon! Arnold and Karlien Bestbier"

Oakdene Guest House
"We had a special event while in their property was so special to organise a special cake just for us & the communication for our requests were absolutely fantastic. Their property, the place & all the structure of this property is absolutely magical. Highly recommend to anybody visiting the area."
Riverside Guest Lodge
"Lovely hotel. Our room was stunning and had every amenity we wanted (including a pillow selection) and our hosts made us so welcome. Breakfast was delicious and we loved the honesty bar and ability to sit with a drink on the raised deck. Wished we had stayed longer as the hotel and area were fantastic."
Earthbound Guest House
"The hosts were more than accommodating and gave us suggestions as to restaurants and other activities. A delightful place to stay."
Mooiplaas Guesthouse
"We had a lovely overnight stay at Mooiplaas. We received an amazingly warm welcome from "Superman" John - and nothing was too much to ask over our short but incredibly relaxing stay. We'd recommend "staying in" for a lovely dinner with an amazing view!"
Turnberry Boutique Hotel
"It feels like I was at home, breakfast was superb and friendly staff . Everything was great I can’t wait to come and stay there again and I will definitely recommend it for couples, family and businesses to use their facility."
De Denne Country Guest House
"This is the second time we stayed over at De Denne Guest House - and again, it was just a pleasure! The pool and lawn were a welcome resting place in the heat and the long drive. As always, the staff are super friendly, welcoming and helpful where ever they can be. Dinner was a wonderful experience, especially the ostrich meat. The rooms were so inviting, huge and filled with great detail. We had the lights on during loadshedding and the wi-fi was great whilst we were there. Perhaps just one suggestion for the hot months - ceiling fans in the bedrooms, as the airflow into the rooms are not so great and keeping the air-con on during the night is not ideal. The breakfast was tasty and everything you may need and it already says a lot that this was our second stay here and we will most certainly come back any day again! Keep it up and well done!"
Swartberg Country Manor
"This review is relatively objective, being my 19th road trip staying in 17 properties over a 42 night period. Easily found on the R328. Plenty of parking. Friendly, helpful and professional staff throughout. I stayed for 2 nights (solo) in a Mountain View chalet, which was bright clean, comfortable, cool (30+ outside) and well equipped. Great views from the stoop and restaurant terrace to the Swartberg mountains Excellent food in the restaurant, both in the evenings and at breakfast time. Walks into the surrounding farms/country side very pleasant, albeit with no route map provided. The only downside, perhaps beyond the control of management, was a group of Russian bikers who to the embarrassment of their South African guide, clearly had no regard for other guests. Recommended"
